NORTH CAROLINA -- A Charlotte boy is recovering tonight after being bitten by a neighbor's dog while out trick or treating.
The boy and his mother were out in a south Charlotte neighborhood on 4 Acre Court when they stopped at a neighbor's house for candy around 6:30 p.m.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Departments Animal Control officers told WBTV news another child answered the door and the family's pet pit bull got out and bit the trick or treater.
Paramedics responded to the scene, but the boy was not seriously injured, police said. The dog, however, was taken into custody and placed under quarantine because of past displays of aggression.
The animal will stay with animal control for 10 days, and then a decision on its fate will be made.
The boy's family said they would take him to a doctor to have the bite on his ankle looked at…but after they finished trick or treating.
