Lexi was killed when 10st bulldog Mulan went berserk at her home in Mountsorrel, Leics, on November 4.
A hush fell over nearby Barrow-upon-Soar yesterday as Lexi’s coffin was carried through the village to Holy Trinity Church on a pink horse-drawn carriage.
Mum Jodi Hudson, 31, who stabbed the crazed dog to death as it savaged her daughter, wept throughout the service.
But she smiled when Lexi’s grand-parents paid a glowing tribute to the youngster’s talent for dancing, which they said “would put Strictly Come Dancing to shame”.
Jodi was joined by her estranged partner, Lexi’s dad Jamie Branson, 38.
Four family members acted as pallbearers to carry the coffin into church to the sound of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
A heart-shaped pink wreath and a large photo of the smiling schoolgirl were on display inside.
The Reverend Rob Paddison described Lexi as “a girl who loved and was loved”.
A message from dad Jamie read: “I will always remember your beautiful smiling face. All my love my beautiful little girl.”

Vicar Mr Paddison said last night: “The tragedy has touched not only people who knew Lexi, but the whole community.”
An inquest will take place next year.
