TEXAS -- A seventy-year old woman was attacked by a pit bull in South Bexar County Thursday morning.
The attack happened in the 3100 block of Cenizo off of Mathis Road and I-37. Bernice Dickerson said she went out to her front yard Thursday morning and saw a pit bull digging in her trash. She says when she tried to scare the dog away, that’s when the attack began.
A neighbor managed to grab his gun and fire a shot to scare off the dog.
Dickerson was bitten twice in her arm. Luckily the wounds were not too serious. She was treated at the scene.
Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies have turned this case over to animal care services. The dog’s owner was not at home at the time of the attack.
