Oklahoma: Report of animal cruelty at Oklahoma City gas station leads to Scott Reeves' arrest

OKLAHOMA -- After allegedly swinging his puppy around by the throat and throwing it on the ground, a man was arrested Saturday on an animal cruelty complaint, Oklahoma City police reported.

About 6:10 p.m., police responded to a gas station at 4301 S May Ave., where witnesses told authorities they saw Scott Henry Reeves, 25, of Oklahoma City, treating his dog violently.

A witness at the scene told police Reeves said, “It’s my dog. I can do what I want.”

A police report stated the dog was released into the care of a witness at the scene.

Reeves was booked into jail about 10:45 p.m. Saturday. He was held Monday for $2,000 bail, according to jail records.

In October 2014, Reeves was convicted of multiple crimes including domestic abuse, resisting arrest and assault and battery upon an emergency medical care provider, court records show.
