MISSISSIPPI -- Two local animal rights groups are offering a reward for the person who maliciously shot and killed a Starkville dog.
A Police officer found the Robertson’s family dog “Ginger” bleeding profusely Saturday night, near her owner’s home.
The family rushed Ginger to the Mississippi State Veterinary Services Office. The dog was shot three times in the face with a shotgun.
Three pellets struck under her eye, penetrating Ginger’s brain. 32 pellets were lodged in the back of her head and across her back. Ginger was euthanized that night.
Hope Animal Sanctuary in Grenada and Justice for Animals Coalition of Winona is offering a $2,500 reward for any information leading to an arrest.
If you know who shot Ginger, call the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department at 323-2421.
