TEXAS -- Kikki Hamann lives and breathes all things dogs. But when this couture canine handbag designer took one of her dogs out for a walk last weekend, she says she was viciously attacked by her neighbor's dog.
"But now I'm scared. If you were attacked by a monster like this, you would too. At that moment it's no longer a dog. At that moment you're not thinking dog, you're thinking wild animal," Hamann said.
The dog that allegedly attacked Hamann is a pit bull - bulldog mix named Sandy. She lives next door, and her owner Donna Petrovic says Sandy was only "reacting" to Hamann's dog and Hamann got between them.
Hamann admits she does own a pit bull but says Sandy attacked her, not her dog. Hamann filed a report with animal control, which came out Friday to assess the situation.
Petrovic says it's her neighbor's fault for getting between two large dogs. Frustrated, she called Houston police. On Friday afternoon, neither the police nor animal control took immediate action. Petrovic will voluntarily take Sandy in for a 10-day quarantine Saturday.
Hamann says she'll be visiting a doctor to discuss surgery on her arm.
