CANADA -- On Friday March 4, 2016 at approximately 5:25 pm members of the Hornepayne Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began an investigation into a cruelty to animal complaint which had taken place in the Community of Hornepayne Ontario.
Preliminary investigation revealed that on Tuesday March 1, 2016 between the hours of 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm someone shot a dog with what appeared to be a pellet gun. The animal which was on its property at the time of the incident had to be taken to the Kapuskasing Veterinarian for medical attention and later released back to its owner.
