A written statement from the Osceola County Sheriff's Office, said deputies responded to a tip from PETA about the alleged abuse of a group of horses in early May.
Further investigation revealed that five horses had been residing on a rented property (4335 Boggy Creek Road) in Kissimmee for about four months. One of the horses had sustained large, open wounds that appeared to cause pain when the horse lifted his leg. A veterinarian determined that the horse's wounds were the result of neglect and could have been avoided.
Deputies subsequently seized all five horses and placed them in the care of the county's animal control department, the statement said.
The investigation also revealed that the horses' owner, Hector Manuel Febus Ojeda (aka Hector Ojeda Febus aka Melanie Febus Ojeda aka Hector Manuel Febusojeda), 39, of Orlando, was on probation for Grand Theft (he stole two police horses).
A condition of that probation banned Ojeda from owning or having contact with animals. The probation order also forbade Ojeda from leaving Orange County, Florida, without permission, the statement said.
On May 31, while acting on a warrant, sheriff's deputies located Ojeda in Manatee County, Florida. He was extradited to Osceola County where he was arrested and charged with one count each of aggravated animal cruelty and probation violation.
Ojeda was unavailable for comment.
The case remains pending.

Let me guess, he's a horrible animal abuser, but he'll get special treatment because he thinks he's a woman.
ReplyDeleteI was the one that contacted peta that got her/him arrested. Technically we sold him to a friend of hers but our stallion ended up in her care. He had a huge gash in his forehead and was skinny along with other horses. I was told 4 horses were seized from the property, not 5. And since we contacted peta, no one has seen the horse we sold to them and no one has any answers about the care of the horse. She used to have a Facebook documenting all of this neglect and abuse but since deleted everything to do with horses. She runs a fake Autism ranch to get people to sell their animals lower then desired.
