Georgia: Michael Ferguson, 62, charged with abandoning dogs to die

GEORGIA -- A Warner Robins man faces animal-cruelty charges for allegedly abandoning five dogs in Crawford County.

According to a news release from the Crawford County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called May 24 to a home on 606 Giles Circle'


They found four black-and-white Border Collies and one dead dog. There was no food, and their water was green, the release said.

Deputies said the property was overgrown and not maintained.

On Tuesday, Michael Lee Ferguson (aka Mike Ferguson), age 62, of Warner Robins was arrested on five counts of felony animal cruelty.

He appeared Thursday before a magistrate judge, and no bond was set.

The surviving dogs were taken to a safe location, according to the sheriff's office.
