OHIO -- The Mahoning County Grand Jury indicted an Austintown man in connection to an argument over a dog that turned physical.
Darrick Vasko, 44, was indicted on charges of felonious and cruelty to animals.
Witnesses told police they saw Vasko punch 36-year-old Jason McCalpin following and argument over a reward for McCalpin's dog that ran away.
Vasko admitted to police that he kept the dog for two weeks without notifying McCalpin.
McCalpin said that Vasko punched him after demanding reward money for finding his lost dog.
Police reports say McCalpin's eye was swollen shut and black and blue, he was bleeding from the bridge of his nose, and one of his front teeth was barely attached.
Vasko claims that McCalpin brandished a knife and swung it at him. Police say they found a knife in McCalpin's pocket.
A witnesses told police that he did see Vasko kick McCalpin's dog.
