TEXAS-- A one-year-old child in Texarkana, Texas is in critical condition after being attacked by a dog Tuesday evening.
Police say just after 6:30 p.m., they were called out to 1604 W. 21st Street.
When officers arrived, they found a pit bull with the girl still in its mouth.
Officers shot twice and killed the dog.
The girl was rushed to Christus St. Michael Hospital where she is in critical condition. She is expected to be flown to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Police say the dog was a family pet and was chained in the yard when it attacked the child.
