Georgia: Pit bulls attack jogger in Athens. Turns out they attacked someone else last year.

GEORGIA -- The owners of three dogs that mauled an Athens jogger are waiting to learn if they will face charges.

The attack happened near Freeman Drive and Nowhere Road.

Bertoldo Montes told CBS Atlanta News from his hospital bed at Athens Regional Medical Center that he has a lot of stitches and was bitten all over his body.

"I couldn't defend myself, there were three of them," Montes told CBS Atlanta's Mike Paluska.  "They were so big, they were biting my head, arms and face."

According to an EMS worker, Montes had over 60 bite wounds across his body.

Montes is waiting to learn whether or not the dogs test positive for rabies.

A similar incident happened with the same Pit Bulls in August 2012, according to the police report.

The pit bulls are currently under quarantine at Athens-Clarke County Animal Control.
