New York: Camden man Ian West, 25, pleads guilty to starving his dog to death

NEW YORK -- A Camden man who was accused of leaving a dog chained outside his home without food in May pled guilty to aggravated cruelty to animals on Monday.

WKTV reports that Ian West, 25, will be sentenced to five years probation and community service in late January as part of his plea.


The dog named Lainey was found chained outside West's home on Babcock Road on May 17. The dog was severely emaciated and died three days later.

West pled guilty in Oneida County Court.

A Camden man is accused of mistreating his dog, leading to the animal's death.

25-year-old Ian West, of Babcock Rd., is charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.

The dog was removed from his home on May 17 and died on May 20 due to its deteriorated health condition.

West was arraigned in Camden Town Court and is being held on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He is scheduled to be back in court at a later date.
