North Carolina: Justin Richardson, 24, allegedly threw Chihuahua against the wall, killing it

NORTH CAROLINA -- An Indian Trail man has been charged with animal cruelty after deputies say he threw a miniature Chihuahua against a wall during a domestic disturbance.

The Union County Sheriff's Office said earlier this week they were called to a domestic disturbance.

Upon arrival, deputies spoke with the female victim and found a deceased dog in the victim's bedroom.

According to the victim, Justin Lamar Richardson, 24, was upset with her because she was supposed to drive him to a bank and she was not moving fast enough.

Richardson allegedly became upset, picked up the dog from the sofa and threw it against a wall. Richardson then allegedly began assaulting the victim with a plastic trash can.

Richardson left the residence prior to the deputy’s arrival but was arrested later in the day.

Richardson now faces charges of Felony Cruelty to Animals, Assault on a Female and Communicating Threats.  He was released from the Union County Jail earlier this week and is due in court on May 31.
