Virginia: "Someone" at the Roanoke Valley SPCA forged paperwork in effort to prevent vicious pit bull from being euthanized

VIRGINIA -- A pit bull from the town of Galax will be euthanized following a hearing Monday.

The city said the dog named Mocha attacked a cat in August, and a judge ruled her a dangerous dog.

After the owner was not able to pay for dangerous dog insurance, it was turned over. However the owner's mother wanted it saved.

Then why didn't Mommy pay for the insurance?

The judge ruled Monday the rescue picked to take Mocha was unfit.

FORGED PAPERWORK FROM THE ROANOKE VALLEY SPCA
The original stay put in place the week before was due to paperwork from the Roanoke Valley SPCA.

But City Manager Keith Barker explained, "In conversation with the Roanoke Valley SPCA, we found out those documents had actually been forged. We don't know by whom but it was somebody, obviously, working to save the animal."

Officials are investigating where the forged paperwork came from.
