WCSO NEWS RELEASE FOR 18 MAY 17

On 16 May 17 Rebecca Sparks, 4755 Waterford Road, Marietta, reported Helen Sullivan’s brindle Boxer running loose again.

Sullivan resides at 4791 Waterford Road, Marietta. Sullivan’s dog was also loose on March 29, 2017 and charged at Sparks in an aggressive manner.

Sgt. McGilton responded to this location and found the dog was still running loose, and the dog charged at the cruiser in an aggressive manner while barking and growling.

Another neighbor, who was familiar with this dog, arrived and restrained the dog inside Sullivan’s residence.

Sullivan was not home upon my arrival, but had left this dog in the care of her daughter, who was incapable of restraining this dog.

Sgt. McGilton contacted Sullivan via cell phone. Sullivan admitted her daughter was not capable of controlling or restraining this dog and Sullivan was advised of concerns for the safety of the community with this dog running loose and she stated she had the same concerns.

Sullivan was informed she needed to crate this dog prior to leaving her residence to ensure it would not get loose.

A citation for failure to confine/restrain will be requested for Sullivan through Marietta Municipal Court.
