FLORIDA -- Deputies are investigating after a Pit bull puppy died from a skull fracture.
Martin County Sheriff's detectives said a Stuart woman had left her dog at the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast last month.
Veterinarians said the puppy named Taz was lethargic and non-responsive, but the woman claimed she didn't know what was wrong with him.
Veterinarians began working on the animal, and determined that he had a massive head injury. He had to be euthanized.
