Elderly man bitten when pit bulls attack dog

‎CALIFORNIA -- A 72-year-old man was injured Friday morning when a dog attacked his dog and he intervened, say Stockton police.

The man was taking his dog on his daily walk on the 2100 block of E. Scotts Avenue, said Officer Joe Silva. The man told officers a pit bull ran down the street and went after his dog, which wasn't on a leash.

The man sustained the bites to his hands and legs while trying to defend his dog, police said.

One of the pit bulls was taken by animal control, and the victim was hospitalized, according to authorities.
