New York: Michelle Benners-Pratt, 51, charged with animal cruelty. Her loony husband threatens camera crew and gets himself arrested, too.

NEW YORK -- On April 29, 2017 Suffolk County SPCA Detectives responded to investigate a complaint of animal neglect. After evaluating the situation a Bay Shore woman was charged with Cruelty to Animals.

Michelle Benners-Pratt, 51, of Bay Shore, was charged with animal neglect for keeping her birds and a dog confined in unhealthy, unsanitary, deplorable conditions.

The Fire Department responded to ventilate the house for the safe removal of the animals and our officers. The animals were transported in our Mobile Animal Surgical Hospital to the Islip Animal Shelter.

Bennett-Pratt will appear in First District Court in Central Islip on July 29th, 2017.

Meanwhile, her husband Gary Pratt saw a camera crew set up across the street from their house - where they had a legal right to be - and ran his mouth to the point that he was arrested and charged with menacing.

When News 12 attempted to speak with animal cruelty suspect Michelle Benners-Pratt, Gary Pratt allegedly menaced the camerawoman.

In the short video clip, he has a German Shepherd on a leash and is wearing a black ski mask in a pathetic attempt to hide his face. He tells the reporter and cameraman he's going to sic his dog on them. The poor dog looks like he wants to get away from him.

Then he walks back and forth, trying to block their camera shot. Uh, hey dummy. I don't think they give a crap about you blocking a shot of the house. They got gold when you went bonkers and threatened them on-camera!

What a moron.

Chief Gross said that animal cruelty will not be tolerated in Suffolk County. If you witness any incident of animal cruelty or neglect in Suffolk County please contact the Suffolk County SPCA at (631) 382-7722.  All calls will be kept confidential.
