GEORGIA -- For the second time in the past two days, a Georgia teenager has been killed by a car while running away from a dog.
Fulton County police say a pit bull began chasing 17-year-old Davon Jiggetts after he stepped off a bus around 1 a.m. Saturday in Riverdale, near Atlanta. Police say he ran into traffic to escape the dog and was killed when a car struck him on Old National Highway.
In east Georgia, an Augusta teenager died early Thursday after being struck by a car while running away from a dog.
The Richmond County Sheriff's Office says 13-year-old Demonta Collins dashed into traffic on Milledgeville Road as he ran from the dog. He was struck by a 2001 Acura and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Two seriously injured after car hits horse then house
ARKANSAS -- A Clay County man was airlifted to The MED in Memphis Wednesday morning after his car hit a horse and then a house.
The crash happened at 5:30 a.m. on Highway 25 in White Oak, according to Trooper B. W. Emerson of the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Billie D. Lewis, 62, of St. Francis was southbound when his 2003 Buick Century struck a horse in the roadway.
The car then ran off the left side of the road and slammed into a house.
Lewis was airlifted to the Elvis Presley Trauma Center (The MED) in Memphis with serious injuries.
His passenger, 82-year-old Alice M. Seal of Gibson, was also seriously injured. She was taken by ambulance to Twin Rivers Medical Center in Kennett.
Trooper Emerson reported both were wearing their seat belts.

Horse Euthanized After Trailer Crash On I-495
MASSACHUSETTS -- One of the two horses injured when a trailer tipped over on I-495 Tuesday has been euthanized.
Dr. Carl Kirker, the head of Tufts University’s Hospital For Large Animals, said the horse had to be put down due to the extent of its injuries.
Kirker-Head said the other horse would undergo surgical evaluation and exploration of its wounds Wednesday.
The trailer carrying the horses tipped over late Tuesday morning as it took a curved road connecting Route 1A to Route 495 northbound in Wrentham.
The horses were able to walk on their own after they were rescued from the trailer.
There is no word on what caused the crash.
