He spent a week in the ICU and had to have his leg amputated. Zoe is alongside him teaching him how to walk again 🐢😻

Wyoming: After a Pit Bull attacked and bit off her nose, little girl gets miracle surgery to create a new one

WYOMING -- Based on the lack of discussion about the Pit Bull in all of the postings and comments, this makes me think it was the family's dog.

Usually people are asking, "Whose dog was it?" "Did the police take it?" "Are charges being filed?" With this case, there's no mention of it at all.

On their YouCaring fundraising page, the little girl's father actually went so far in his Facebook post as to tell readers - people they're asking money from - to "keep your comments to yourself about the dog. It was an accident and is being taken care of"

Yep. Pretty much confirmed - it was their Pit Bull. Or another family member's Pit Bull. Why else would they be so defensive about anyone daring to give their opinion about Pit Bulls??

That being said, prayers for this little girl who ended up being the victim of delusional, in-denial adults. I hope she recovers completely with a beautiful new nose. Modern medicine can do amazing things.

And we are finally done! She did such a wonderful job.

As most of you know this step consisted of providing cartilage to her nose. Her nose shape did not change too much for this step.

They decided to take a piece if her rib from her left side and than a piece from her ear. They also kind of chiseled around her nostrils making actual holes in her nose now! They also took the plastic piece from the top of her head off as it was starting to have a funky smell.

We will be taking care of that wound without the plastic piece now. It looks fantastic. We are scheduled to come back in one week and than again in 3 to 4 weeks. Thanks for all the continued prayers.

It's an amazing procedure and they do a wonderful job and keep us updated in such stressful times. Couldn't ask for a better place to be.

UPDATE:
I can not thank everyone enough for the prayers and good vibes that we have had. This little girl has always had god by her side through life and everyone's prayers are working! Please continue them.

Addie is doing great. She can not do things on her own right now. They have her pretty sedated and she will be for at least the next 5 days. She has a machine helping her breathe and eat in the mean time. The doctors attached HER nose!!!!.... But.... We will not know for a few days if the process worked. Basically just waiting for this little leach to be our best friends and help her get correct blood supply pumping and leaving the nose. YES I said leach. It is still new to us all! Doctors included.

A split second and their daughter's life was changed forever

UPDATE: Things have went slightly downhill. But we are still optimistic and hopeful!! Addie has received a blood transfusion as she is losing too much. The leaches are not latching to her nose anymore like they were before. We figured maybe its because the blood flow is not not good. And we were right. The Dr poked her nose a few times with a needle. And before blood would gush... Now absolutely no blood will come out... Which means the blood is not flowing correctly.

She is a fighter and we will remain upbeat as she once pulled out a miracle we know she's capable of another!

We can not express how much we appreciate the prayers that have been sent to our little girl and our family. UNFORTUNATELY they CANT save her little nose. She has had no blood flow in almost 24 hours. We will be meeting with a surgeon soon to discuss alternative surgery and actions. In the meantime they will bring her back! She will be heavily medicated to ease the pain and be sleepy but we will be able to see her open her gorgeous eyes! There's a silver lining!
So please please keep sending prayers and good vibes as this is ALL we need right now!

Miss addie absolutely HATED the hyperbaric chamber! She wanted nothing to do with the cool submarine. And! Wanted nothing to do with the cool astronaut hat. πŸ˜‚ but she took it like a champ anyway and was awesome! She got her tubes in last night and than at 9am this morning we went to another hospital. (First time outside in one week; she loved it!) And she spent about 1.5 hours in the chamber. Doc says if she came to the chamber sooner he thinks he could have saved most of her perfect nose.... But that wasn't the case.... So now we will do the chamber M-F at 1:00 and save as much as we can at this point. They are very optimistic about the bridge of her nose mostly surviving. As for her nostrils they are already dead :( as you can clearly see in the pic below what is dark black has not survived.

So she gets a break for the weekend. No one bothering her except for she has to wear an oxygen mask at all times now. Not because her oxygen is low but because the oxygen will once again help the infected area. So! Please keep her in your thoughts and send good vibes. We love you all very much and appreciate the love and support back.

Holy mother truck you guys!!
Can you see the difference between the second and third picture!! Her nose already is showing a huge difference in not even 24 hours of the hyperbaric chamber treatment! Woohoo
First and second picture is how fast it died in just a few days. :(
But lets hope this new treatment does the job!

This beautiful gem just got out of surgery and it went great. They were actually able to save quite a bit of the tissue from her nose. So we decided to change plans a bit and wait it out. We will be able to go home FRIDAY and let it heal for 3 weeks before we have to come back for surgery. In the meantime she will continue the hyperbaric treatments. If the tissue does not collapse during this time they will just reconstruct some nostrils for her and go from there. If the tissue does end up collapsing than our alternative would be the prosthesis as its a less process than the other options.

Mike Montoya posted on Facebook February 12, 2018 ·
This precious gem gets a haircut tomorrow and has surgery on March 6th! She is super excited to pick the shape of her nose, it will be beyond perfect!

PLEASE: Remember this is a process. After today's surgery her nose isn't going to look exactly like a nose. This is just the first step, with several more to come in a short period of time.

This Beauty has just one more hour to wait before she goes into surgery for her new Nose! Woo-hoo. Such an exciting but nerve wrecking day. Can't wait to see results.

Kentucky: Man rushes to help after elderly man and his dog attacked by Pit Bull

KENTUCKY -- Ronnie Tucker posted on Facebook March 13, 2018 ·

Came home from work and backed into my driveway as always, opened my door and heard a scream for help.

Jumped back in the truck and went down the street to a neighbor being mauled by a pit bull. got a tie down strap around his neck and had to drag the beast off the man.

80 years old out walking his dog and this thing knocked him down trying to to get his dog. Busted his head and took a finger off.

Animal control, ambulance, and police cars but not another person anywhere to help. Glad I got home when I did.

Australia: Boy, 3, attacked by Great Dane has his ear surgically reattached

AUSTRALIA -- A three-year-old boy who was torn from his bike and dragged by a Great Dane almost double his size has had his ear surgically reattached.

Little Tom Higgins was riding his bike and collecting cans for recycling with his family in Newcastle on Tuesday evening when the dog escaped through an open gate, biting his neck and ear.

The young boy underwent surgery at John Hunter Children’s Hospital on Wednesday and police say the dog is likely to be destroyed following a council investigation. The child remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Tom was the third child in just four days to be savagely mauled by pet dogs in Australia — leading to calls for new guidelines for owners and bans on dangerous breeds.

The first attack came on Saturday. One-year-old Kamillah Jones was in a stroller in the NSW town of Inverell when a Rottweiler attacked her.

She was rushed to Inverell District Hospital in an ambulance, but her injuries were so severe she couldn’t be saved.

There was another attack on Sunday, this time in Melbourne, where a 10-year-old girl was seriously injured by her family's Bull Mastiff.

That attack happened while her parents were reportedly at the gym.

When speaking about the attack in Newcastle, NSW Police’s Detective Acting Inspector Jeffrey Little said the owners of any dog that attacks a person are liable.

DELUSIONAL DOG OWNERS
However, the Great Dane’s owners said the canine simply does not like bikes, the Seven Network reported.

The Great Dane will likely be euthanized, say police

California: Doberman attacked by Pit Bull at dog park

CALIFORNIA -- Chicago is a young, very much loved, Doberman Pinscher, who was needlessly attacked by a Pit Bull dog in a dog park in Temecula, California.

Because of this vicious attack, she now has to have surgery to remove a canine tooth and a partial tail amputation. PLEASE help us raise money for this beloved pet of Sherry and Doug Lacey.

Most of you already know this beautiful Christian couple, Sherry and Doug Lacey from British Columbia, Canada. In December, 2017 they sold their home and began to live the RV life full time, for the purpose of Ministry.

They had two dobermans, Santana and Chicago. Santana had been sick for a long time, but they had prayed she would live long enough to return to the beaches of Oregon, which was her favorite place in the world. She did make it there, but the day they left Oregon, sadly she passed away. Not only was it an incredible loss for Sherry and Doug, but Chicago took it exceptionally hard too.

Sherry and Doug have continued onward, and have worked hard to bless many people along the west coast of California. One place they set up was in the desert in Slab City, CA. In this ministry they were able to love and bless many people living there by handing out supplies, food and water. While in this area a defenseless dog had been brutally attacked by a Pit Bull dog. So they loaded the dog into their car, took him to the Mexican border to an emergency vet office. He was examined and treated and the Lacey's paid for the examination, x-rays, medical care and medicine of this poor dog.

In late February, 2018, Sherry and Doug took Chicago to a dog park in Temecula, CA, where she was attacked by a different Pit Bull dog. However, they did not realize, until they had gotten back home to their RV, that one of her lower canine teeth had been broken. Sherry and Doug took Chicago to an emergency vet and learned that the Pit had also injured her tailbone too! The vet informed her that the tooth would need to be surgically removed and part of the tailbone would need to be amputated.

In the midst of all of this Sherry and Doug had gotten a new Doberman puppy named Journey. Chicago was not accepting of Journey and was showing exceptional aggressiveness towards the little puppy. They thought this was due to her mourning for the loss of her sister, Santana. But they quickly realized that Chicago is in severe and constant pain with the damage to her tooth and tailbone. She is still very young and will be two years old in May. The veterinarian, Dr. Gill from Vail Ranch Veterinary Hospital in Temecula, California, is a specialist. He will be performing the tail amputation and extraction of the canine tooth on March 23, 2018.

It is a very serious amputation which will require two to three months of monitored recovery. It is actually more serious than the loss of a leg due to possible spinal complications if not taken care of properly. She could end up paralyzed. The money needs to be raised and into their checking account no later than March 16, if possible.

The surgeries, initially will require the following:
Blood Collection two days prior - Pre Anesthetic Panel 2 - fluids and intravenous - Lg pain injection - Antibiotic injection - Cerenia Inj.P/Surg 56-75 lbs - Anesthesia Isoflurane 90 mins - Amputation of Tail - Tooth extraction of Lower canine - Buprenorphine injection - Hospitalization - Elizabethan collar #30 - Cefpodoxime 100 mg tabs - Tramadol 50 mg - Carprofen 100 mg.

The above costs have been conservatively estimated to be around $3,400. However; following the surgery, Chicago will need to be seen in the office several times to monitor her healing, possible infections, security of the stitches, follow up blood work and spinal function. These will be added expenses which are not listed above.

So to help offset some of these costs, I am praying that we can raise a minimum of $4,000, or more, to give to this wonderful, loving, giving Christian couple. I had to beg Sherry to let me set up a GoFundMe account to help Chicago. She told me that her dad, and many of you, were also telling her that she needed to ask us for help. Many people have stated they are willing and able to contribute. With the money we raise it will enable Sherry and Doug to continue with their Ministry of helping people in need. The Laceys ministry in the USA can be followed through their blog at: www.knightrider360.com

PLEASE SHARE this with your friends and family and help us RAISE THESE FUNDS by March 16, 2018! Thank you and may God bless you all.

Australia: Boy, 3, riding bicycle is attacked by Great Dane; has part of his ear ripped off

AUSTRALIA -- A three-year-old boy is undergoing surgery to reattach part of his ear after being attacked by a Great Dane while riding his bicycle in Newcastle.

In the third serious dog attack in under a week, the little boy was riding down Antill Street in the suburb of Mayfield with his mother and older sister shortly after 6.30pm yesterday when the large dog ran out of an open gate and lunged.

Detective Acting Inspector Jeffrey Little said it was fortunate the child wasn't more seriously injured.

"The child has sustained injuries to the back of his neck and to the right side of his ear and has actually undergone surgery this morning," he said at a press conference in Newcastle this morning.

The dog retreated to its property, while the boy was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to John Hunter Hospital.

Police have spoken to the boy's mother, who they say is "holding up quite well".

"Everybody is lucky in this circumstance that it hasn’t ended up worse," Detective Little said.

"This is traumatic for the family and probably for the dog owner as well."

Police and the local council are investigating the attack, and there was "every chance" the dog responsible would be destroyed.

It comes just days after a 12-month-old baby girl Kamillah was mauled to death by a Rottweiler at her grandmother’s house in the central NSW town of Inverell on Saturday.

The following day, a 10-year-old girl was viciously mauled by her family’s South African Boerboel (other reports called it a Bull Mastiff) while home alone with her younger sister in Melbourne.

The girl remains in hospital, while the dog responsible for the attack has been put down.

Detective Little said the spat of attacks should serve as a timely reminder to dog owners and parents alike to be vigilant when children are around unleashed dogs.

"It goes without saying, without telling parents how to do their job, just to be vigilant when they are outside with their kids. There is always a potential when there is a dog which is running loose," he said.

"Children are particularly vulnerable to attacks by dogs by their mere size, and certainly they can suffer serious physical and psychological injuries – and unfortunately, as we’ve seen in recent days, even death."

The Great Dane that attacked the little boy

He also urged anyone with concerns about a potentially dangerous dog to contact their local council.

"Dogs are an animal, and every dog has the potential - large or small - to attack."

In New South Wales, dog owners whose pets are involved in an attack face up to five years' imprisonment and fines of up to $77,000.

Florida: Woman has her leg amputated at the knee after being attacked by her own Pit Bull

FLORIDA -- A Homosassa woman is recovering from severe dog bites after her own dog attacked her without warning or provocation.

According to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office, deputies at about 11 a.m. on Thursday responded to a home off South Maxwell Point in Homosassa, where they found the homeowner, 20-year-old Jessica Calhoun, with serious bites on her body, especially her legs.

Calhoun and her boyfriend, Robert Guerra, told police their 4-year-old female pit bull terrier mix attacked Calhoun at home while she was on the phone. Guerra said the dog walked over to Calhoun, sniffed her clothes and then attacked her for no reason.

Due to the severity of her injuries, Calhoun was airlifted to a hospital and contact was made with the Florida Department of Health in case she contracted rabies, according to the sheriff’s office.

Calhoun surrendered ownership of her dog to the county and asked for it to be put down. Instead of monitoring the dog for 10 days to see if it had rabies, the county euthanized the dog and sent it to a state lab for more immediate testing.

URGENT PRAYER REQUEST!

This is my Beautiful niece Jessica. Yesterday morning she was attacked by her own dog.

She is in pretty bad shape. She was in surgery for almost 7 hours yesterday. The dog tore both of her legs up especially the left leg. Hitting the main artery in her leg. The surgeon did a procedure yesterday taking a vein out of her right leg and placing it in her left.

As of the morning that procedure was not successful. I am asking all of my friends that are prayer warriors to please keep Jessica in prayer. The surgeon has now recommend amputating her leg.

At this point it's a life or death decision. Our family is heart broken! I know God is a big God! And he can change the situation before the surgery ever get started! Please pray for this sweet girl that is so full of life! Jess we love you baby girl! πŸ™❤️πŸ™❤️

Her employer said she loves her three dogs and that she'd been trying to get rid of at least one of them.

It should also be noted that the Pit Bull pictured in this article is one that the victim was trying to re-home. It is not the actual Pit Bull that attacked her.

Hi everyone,

This is Jessica Marie, our beautiful, wonderful, full of life girl.  She needs all of our help as she was brutally attacked by her family dog on Thursday morning resulting in life threatening injuries.

Jessica has gone through two major surgeries thus far, is still on a ventilator and fighting to get better every day. She remains in critical condition, having suffered severe trauma to both legs, resulting in the severing of a main artery in her left upper thigh.

After unsuccessful procedures in attempting to restore blood circulation to her left leg, doctors had no choice but to amputate the leg above the knee.

Jessica has been a employee at Brooksville's Coney Island Restaurant for 14 years, has no health insurance, and will have medical bills piling up quick, let alone the long road to recovery ahead.  We now are asking for your help financially; if you cannot please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. This girl is going to need a lot of love and support from all her friends and family!  Thank you all and God richly bless you!

Kansas: Nearly three months after attack, little boy mauled by his friend's Pit Bull mix still hospitalized but slowly making progress

KANSAS -- Nearly three months ago, nine-year-old Chance Orozco was at a friend's house playing. This friend had a Pit Bull - German Shepherd mix that was chained to a tree.

At some point, Chance wandered close enough to the dog, which attacked him.

Chance lost his left ear, portions of his scalp and now has a tracheostomy.

The Kansas Highway Patrol worked the incident and told Chance's family that the attack lasted about 20 minutes. Initial news reports said that police had no plans of conducting an investigation, preferring to chalk it up as a "tragic incident".

Note: An investigation always needs done when an attack is this severe. Where did they get the dog from? What's its history? Has it bitten before? Why was a chained dog able to maul this little boy for 20 minutes without an adult intervening? Were the boys left alone? Were the children in this household afraid of this dog? Is that why it was chained to a tree?

It's irresponsible policing to say no investigation is going to be conducted when this little boy has a lifetime of injuries he'll be dealing with.

This photo was posted recently showing Chance still hospitalized and slowly making progress. Like I said, a lifetime of recovery.

APOLOGIST
Despite all this, his father Stephen Orozco told a reporter he doesn't blame Pit Bulls. He's one of those who desperately wants to believe in "blaming the deed and not the breed".

Australia: Jo says there's a reason this Pit Bull ripped its owner's arm off; claims they were 'nanny dogs'

AUSTRALIA -- Jo Bryant posted on Facebook February 6, 2018 ·

Ridiculous. If a dog attacks, it has a reason. For decades pit bulls were nanny dogs because they could be trusted.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Pit Bulls were NEVER called nanny dogs -- until recently when Pit Bull defenders began saying that in an effort to prevent people from focusing on how many people, pets and livestock Pit Bulls have attacked and killed.
