Louisiana: Cops rescue dogs who were filmed being swung by their necks in horrifying video and hunt for their cruel tormentor

LOUISIANA -- Two adorable dogs have been rescued from a vicious thug who was filmed swinging them around by a leash before sending them flying more than 20 feet on to concrete.

The video, filmed in East Baton Rouge, Louisiana, shows the young black male walking the two dogs down a street.

He then begins to swing them in circles using the leash attached to their necks. He lets them go, tossing tossing the poor creatures like rag dolls.

A second man, who appears to be filming the incident, can be heard saying: 'Oh yeah, b****h, oh yeah' as his friend brutally launches the dogs across the concrete surface.

Their howls of pain can be heard echoing into the distance as they hit the ground.

It remains unclear how the young man came to be in possession of the dogs but the dogs belonged to neither of the men.

After analyzing the video, investigators realized the incident happened in the Gardere area of East Baton Rouge, Liveleak reported.

In a Facebook post yesterday East Baton Rouge Sheriffs Office revealed they had found the animals after canvassing the area.

The two dogs were found near the apartment shown in the video.

It confirmed the poor dogs are healthy and now back with their owners, saying: 'Many of you may have seen the horrible video that is circulating of two dogs being thrown by a young man.

'We are happy to say that deputies canvassed the area in which we believe the video was filmed and found the dogs. They are with their owners and happy and healthy!'

It added its deputies are now working with Iberville Parish Sheriff's Office to identify the person involved in the incident and bring him to justice.

UPDATE:
Doggies Found Safe!
Many of you may have seen the horrible video that is circulating of two dogs being thrown by a young man. We are happy to say that deputies and animal control canvassed the area in which we believe the video was filmed and found the dogs. They are with their owners and happy and healthy!
EBRSO is still working with the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office to identify and charge those involved in the video. Anyone with information is asked to call 389-5000.

Note: I had uploaded the video but YouTube removed it before it was even posted and issued a strike against my account. You can go to liveleak.com to see it. Sometimes you have to see horrible things to understand just how depraved people are and how they need to be punished severely for hurting innocent animals.

New York / Louisiana: Apologists rush to their computers to defend Pit Bulls after Laura Ray is attacked and killed by a Pit Bull at a boarding facility

NEW YORK -- Angel Nieves posted on Facebook January 12 at 9:56am ·

First of all this could have happened on any breed and by how they are raised by owners. The news also didn't show the picture of the dog. It's not the one on the video. RIP Laura Williams Ray, my condolences to the family.

"Choate states that if you are getting attacked there are a few things you can do to protect yourself, "Make a big noise, yell at them, scream at them, jump up and down, do something that will scare them away. If you have something in your hand, throw it just get their attention off of you."

Dumperton Jones - As someone who has been attacked twice by a large pit bull (two different occasions, two different dogs) the only way to stop the attack is to fight...fight with everything you have. That's my experience. First time took OC and a baton, second time took a baton. Both times the owner was there and could so nothing to stop their dog.

LOUISIANA -- Meredith Lois Kolb shared KTVE 10 KARD 14 myarklamiss's post — feeling disgusted. January 10, 2018 at 5:06pm ·

I hate that the news blasted “PIT BULL ATTACK.” A tragedy happened and it’s focused more on the breed of dog than the tragedy at hand. I wish the people commenting horrible things on the thread would realize animals are animals no matter what kind and some times animals are temperamental, especially in a foreign place. No excuse, it should have been prevented. But, everyone should be more focused on prayers for her family and what the establishment could do to prevent terrible things like this happening.

Sorry. I’m being a pit mom and human being who is getting worked up over everyone arguing about how awful a certain breed of dog is when a woman lost her life. Prayers for her family and friends and the dogs family who will most likely lose their pet.

Louisiana: Pit Bull mauls owner's friend, sending him to the hospital. This is the 2nd time he has been attacked by this same dog

LOUISIANA -- A man is in the hospital after being mauled by a friend's dog.

James Rorrer was taken to University Health by ambulance and the dog was taken by the parish and quarantined at Caddo Parish Animal Shelter (CPAS).

On Wednesday, the victim's wife, Debra Rorrer said her husband is recovering and his blood pressure has stabilized. Although, that wasn't the case after Monday's attack.

Debra Rorrer said her husband was bleeding profusely when he was first brought into the hospital.

She said James Rorrer was just visiting a friend and his girlfriend and even petting their pit bull.

Things changed as James Rorrer was on his way out, the dog attacked him biting him in the groin, ripping up his arms, biting his face, and the top of his head.

PIT BULL PREVIOUSLY ATTACKED HIM IN SEPTEMBER 2017
Debra Rorrer said the same dog attacked her husband back on September 20, 2017.

James Rorrer chose not to report what happened, but this time around, the family wants consequences.

"I've got dogs of my own," Rorrer said. "If my dogs were capable of doing this, I'd want them to be euthanized."

KTBS reached out to the dog's owners, but they weren't available on the phone or at home.

Caddo Parish Spokesperson Krystle Grindley said CPAS has no files to show the dog is up-to-date on vaccines.

"I think the people that have the dog need to be cited for not having it's vaccinations, for not taking proper care of the dog," Debra Rorrer said.

Grindley did not say if the owner in this case will be fined, but she sent a statement saying:

"Per the Parish ordinance, all animals are required to have their rabies vaccinations. Any owner that is found to not be in compliance with the ordinance can be ticketed for failure to follow."

Debra and Jim Rorrer

The victim's wife said there are two lessons people should take away from this: Always get your dog vaccinated and if you're bitten, report it immediately.

Grindley said the dog is being monitored under a 10-day quarantine.

If the dog is determined to be vicious, the owner can turn the dog over to the parish and the CPAS director would have the final decision on the dog's fate.

The owner could also appeal the the verdict, or get the dog back under strict restrictions.

Grindley said, in this case. the owner of the dog has signed release papers, giving the animal up to the parish.

Louisiana: Pit Bull mauls woman to death at boarding facility

LOUISIANA -- A West Monroe woman died after being attacked by a pit bull Tuesday night.

Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s deputies responded to a report of an injured person at the boarding facility The Happy Hound Hotel, 517 Smith St.,West Monroe at approximately 11 p.m.

Deputies found a female victim who appeared to have been severely injured, apparently by a pit bull housed at the location. The injuries proved fatal.

The victim has been identified as Laura Williams Ray (different news outlets report Ray as having 3, maybe 4 children).

Glenn Springfield, a spokesperson for the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, said he didn’t know whether Ray worked at the pet boarding facility or if she was visiting an animal being housed there at the time of attack which occurred circa 11pm.

Her niece posted on Facebook that her aunt Laura was at work. My guess is that Laura was maybe doing some last-minute cleaning before going home for the night.

Leanne Stuckey, owner of the Happy Hound Hotel, confirmed that an incident happened at the facility and that the kennel was told the dog had never been aggressive toward people.

"Our hearts go out to the family," Stuckey said Wednesday. "I'm just grieving for them."

According to signage posted at the building, the Happy Hound Hotel is closed on Tuesdays.

The dog was released to the custody of Ouachita Parish Animal Control, and the investigation is continuing.

District Attorney Steve Tew said his office is reviewing the case and will be looking at all options.

The DA's office can initiate an action to have the dog euthanized.
