Maryland: Schnauzer is euthanized after 'single mother with 2 kids' claims she can't afford to pay the vet bills after her Pit Bulls tore him apart

MARYLAND -- Towson, Maryland- On Friday 01/19/2018 around 7:40p-8:00p my wife and daughter were going on a regular nightly walk with our mini schnauzers Mackie and Rosie while I was on my way back home from work.

Shortly after their walk, two unleashed pit bulls approached them and attacked them. Neither my wife and daughter were bit. Except, for my wife some scratches to her body and soreness on her arms and body due to the struggle.

Unfortunately, our dog, Mackie is in bad condition with deep wounds from the bites that damaged his muscles and nerves and dislocated his hip with a 50% chance of full recovery.

Our dog was rushed to the Pet-Er and has been hospitalized since Friday night and his bill is already at $4,100. The owner of the pit bulls who is a single parent working two jobs and going to school has been paying Mackie's medical bills, however, we are trying to find other solutions to alleviate the costly treatment.

Am I supposed to feel sorry for this "single parent working two jobs and going to school"? SHE CHOSE TO HAVE NOT JUST ONE - BUT TWO PIT BULLS AS PETS AND IS 100% RESPONSIBLE FOR WHAT HAS HAPPENED.

It is an unexpected expense that we didn't cause. We are asking for any monetary donations, so that we can continue our dog's treatment. Per the Pet-Er doctor Mackie will be required to stay hospitalized for a few more days to determine how serious his health condition is, which can cost at least $1,000 daily and further treatment for his wounds and hip.

The money not used will be donated forward to an animal rescue and care center which name will be announce on my Facebook with visuals of me giving a check to the rescue center and thanking everyone of you for your support.

Our dogs have been with us since puppies for about 7 years. They are part of our family and everyday life, growing together side by side with our children, who are 12 and 8 years old. Our dogs are the ones that when we come home are so excited to see us and they have been the most loyal to us.

We are a working family just like every American who is trying to make it. And we are in an unfortunate situation that is requiring the help of others. Every little bit that you can contribute from $1 or more if you can help. We will be forever grateful.

Either you can or can't help financially please help by sharing this link with family and friends.

God Bless you all!

UPDATE 1
On Friday 01/19/2018 my wife and daughter were going on a regular nightly walk with our mini schnauzers Mackie and Rosie. Shortly, two unleashed pit bulls approached them and attacked them. Neither my wife and daughter were hurt. Except, for my wife suffering a minor bite and a few scratches and just soreness in the neck and arm area.

Unfortunately, our baby dog, Mackie was brutally hurt with deep wounds from the bites that damaged his muscles and dislocated his hip.

This incident has resulted with a hospitalization and treatment  that continues to get costly. Our dog has been hospitalized since Friday night and his bill is already at $4,100.

The owner of the pit bulls who is a single parent working two jobs and going to school has been paying Mackie's medical bills, however, we are trying to cooperate with each other and find solutions to alleviate the costly treatment.

Did she euthanize her maulers? If not, she's not really sorry. #SorryNotSorry

We love animals and understand that accidents happen all the time. We are asking for any monetary donations, so that we can continue Mackie's treatment. He will require to stay hospitalized for a few more days, which can cost up $1,000 daily and further treatment for his hip.

Our dogs have been with us since puppies for about 7 years. They are part of our family and everyday life, growing together side by side with our children, who are 12 and 8 years old. Our dogs are the ones that when we come home are so excited to see us and they have been the most loyal to us.

We have never asked for any types of assistance for our dogs. We are a working family just like every American who is trying to make it. And we are in an unfortunate situation that is requiring the help of others.  Every little bit that you can contribute will help. We thank you and appreciate that you also care and love animals and we will be forever grateful.

If you can't help financially please help by sharing this link with family and friends.

God Bless you all!

UPDATE 2
Thank you everyone who has donated. Mackie is still in full recovery mode. We were able to transfer him over from the Pet-Er to an Animal Hospital. Still a long way to go and more treatment to get done. Please even a small donation of $1 help to the cause.
God Bless you all!

UPDATE 3
Unfortunately Mackie was put to sleep today 01/23/2018 at 2:40p. We are heartbroken right now. Mackie needed 24/7 attention and neither the owner of the pit bulls nor us could afford it. He was in so much pain and it was hard seeing him like that. We had him since he was a puppy. The money collected was used to put him to sleep.

Thank you all for your support! God Bless you all!

Tennessee: Vicious Pit Bulls at Chew Chew dog park make it too dangerous for other dogs

TENNESSEE -- Roger Layne added 2 new photos to Facebook November 12, 2017 at 5:02pm ·

This was 3 years ago after an attack by a pit bull at the Chew Chew dog park, by Chattanooga Market.

Today a pit bull attacked a Jack Russell. Sparky and I were about to go in.

Tennessee: Pit Bull mauling Miniature Schnauzer isn't fazed when beaten with metal rods. Finally neighbor shoots Pit Bull five times. Schnauzer is released only to be grabbed again by the Pit Bull which, despite having five bullet holes in it, continues to maul the smaller dog

TENNESSEE -- A woman came to the front door screaming, "A Pit bull is attacking your dog!"

At first I really didn’t think it could be mine they are so friendly and passive and on my property. A pit bull running [loose in] the neighborhood grabbed Bocelli and was dragging him around like a rag doll.

Thankfully the neighbor guy and wife saw him being mauled and knew Bocelli.

They were throwing stuff at the pit-bull, hitting him with metal rods but it didn’t stop him, the man ran and got his gun shot him over 5x before he even let Bocelli go, then only let him get a few feet away and grabbed him again.

I ran around the front yard calling him, I ran back into the house hoping it wasn’t him but there he was standing there his little body covered in mud and blood and shaking so badly barely holding himself up. I scooped him up and ran to the shower so I could see the real damage.

Bocelli’s little body was shaking and he could not walk.  You can see over 20 punctures marks all over his body. Apparently, pit bulls grab heads and shake little dogs until their little spines snap.

The Parkway Animal Clinic cleared a space for the emergency and treated Bocelli immediately. They gave him shots for infection and pain. They said Bocelli was very lucky, The pit came close to his eye but didn’t get it. I have posted  pictures on his FB page. It also grabbed his penis and hind end area.

He didnt do well after the ER visit, and was back to 24/7 Overreach Animal Hospital to see a new Veternarian Dr Jill.  She treated him with antibiotics and more pain meds and scheduled surgery for first thing in the morning.

You are encourage to visit the puppies Facebook page (@6pups) Miniature Schnauzer Puppies page where you can read, see the pictures, watch participate, send your love, positive healing energy for Bocelli.  As you visit the page you will see the puppies are my life and happiness and to have this little man in such pain is just heart breaking.   I have also shared his Veterinarian page so you can see and discuss with Dr Jill and her staff, your comments.

There has been an overwhelming support of love sent to him and I feel the only reason he is still alive which I am so very thankful.

The monies will go to the 3 ER visits, Surgery, 7 Plus medicines they have him on, follow ups to come and possible legal fees to find and hold accountable the owner of the Pitbull.

Be cautioned; the pics are graphic and FB supporters are as angry as I am and very upset as they share their very shocking and sad stories. Which you really cannot help when you see his little mangled body.

This is my first GoFundMe page and has been created at the request of the many people following his progress. Please be patient if I do something wrong or if you have questions as I am caring for my little man Bocelli 24/7 and he is my priority but I will respond.  Of course your welcome and encouraged to get on FB.

Thank you
Margo; Bocelli’s companion

UPDATE
Trying to upload pics for people that haven’t seen the 10+ before and after pics. If you would like pictures feel free to contact me. For those that have seen the FB page you will understand. Thank you

Well good news and maybe not so good. His belly and private parts are better than expected and the holes in his stomach / private part areas are not to many layers deep and still bleeding. Half of his face has been removed and has scars up under his ear and a tube in his face.

You can't even tell that this is the little guy's face

Dr. Jill hopes he won’t lose the whole surface of the rest of where the tube is as his face skin has been ripped away from the face structure. She could not cut out all the dead skin because there was not enough to close it back up. So you will see a long scar and tube and later pics of his hind and belly. I can’t lift his little leg now. He is still sedated.

She is worried about infection and now we have 5 medicines plus a cream and stuff I had to buy; triple antibiotic plus tube face flush. This is really just terrible, BUT.

I am More than grateful he is still alive and I am thankful for everyone’s prayers 🙏 and positive energy for Bocelli. He needs all the Love ❤️ he can for the next few critical days. Thank you

PLEASE EVERYONE...THIS IS A SAFE & GOOD CAUSE. This is to help Bocelli the Miniature Schnauzer (the 5 year old puppy of our Miniature Schnauzer Sally). He celebrated his 5th Birthday on Monday and was attacked by a vicious pit bull the very next day while standing in his own yard in Clarksville, Tenn.

I insisted that the owner Margaret P. Clarke start a GoFundMe page even though she felt very uncomfortable about asking for help; but after repeated calls & messages going unanswered by the area Animal Control near her home in Clarksville, Tenn., and any hope of finding the pit bull and his owner have fallen to deaf ears, she had no other recourse, than to ask for help with the extended expenses for this unexpected tragedy that will change little Bocelli's life forever.

There are well over 200 puncture wounds to Bocelli's little body and his face is so mangled they have a tube connected for drainage. If infection sets in he will lose even more of his sweet little face.

PLEASE go to the owners FB page or under Miniature Schnauzer Puppies page out of Clarksville, Tn. and see for yourself how much Bocelli will have to recover from. He's got a very long road ahead & many more trips to the Vet ahead of him all because the owner of a very aggressive, vicious animal did not control him and won't do the right thing & come forward to pay restitution.

ANY CONTRIBUTION YOU CAN MAKE WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANK YOU!

Do to all the additional questions about his hind area I am going to post the pics that I have taken without moving him too much.

He has well over well over 20 puncture wounds on his body. He is still just laying. I’ve tried to feed him: can dog food, rotisserie chicken, 5 different kinds of his favorite treats, he just is not interested in anything yet.

5 days no real food. Thankfully the vet had giving him IVs. He is normally a light eater and thin. Maybe tomorrow. He has been laying and very calm all day. I put the medicine on some of the puncture wounds and flushed the tube.

No word yet on the Pit Bull. No contact at all from my many calls to Animal Control nor my email.

Thank you everyone and I know this is emotionally draining but please Please continue praying. . I am very happy to have the surgery over, have him home and on the bumpy road to recovery.

Michigan: Dog attacked and nearly killed by neighbor's Rottweiler in Wayne

MICHIGAN -- A dog is attacked while walking in his front yard in Wayne on Tuesday.

Donna Taylor told 7 Action News she was walking her dog Sammy, when she heard the neighbor’s dog getting upset.

"Sammy was out sniffing around and the Rottweiler that lived next door was very agitated and jumping at the fence and barking and everything,” said Taylor.

The neighbor’s dog was able to break through a weak spot in the fence and charged at Sammy.

"He grabbed Sammy around the neck and that's when he bit me and just kept shaking him like a rag,” said Taylor.

She thought Sammy was dead, but she rushed him to her vet, where they stabilized him and sent him to an emergency vet.

"They called him the miracle dog, she said he was little fighter and it could have been so much worse,” said Taylor.

The neighbor’s dog is a first time offender when it comes to biting. He has no history.

"My husband called police and an animal control warden came over and seized the dog,” said Taylor.

Which means, even though he is in quarantine now for a few days, he’s expected home soon.

Her neighbor has agreed to help with some of the cost, but the bills are expensive.

"They have said they will help, but the cost is at $4,500.00 right now, just for that one veterinary hospital then I have my other vet, the cost is growing,” said Taylor.

She said she is just happy to have her dog home.

"He's a little rescue, I got him when he was a year old and he's about 9-years-old now. He's my baby,” said Taylor.

Sammy the Survivor
Created February 16, 2017 by Dan Taylor on behalf of Donna Taylor
WAYNE, MI

On Monday, February 13, my mother was taking Sammy (one of their miniature Schnauzers) for a walk in her front yard.  Their next door neighbor has a Rottweiler that was only secured in their backyard by a piece off wood between a fence post and the the garage.  My mother heard the noise of the wood board come crashing to the ground and the full grown Rottweiler charging her and the dog.

As my mother was trying to grab Sammy off of the ground, the Rottweiler grabbed Sammy by the neck, biting my mother in the process.  My mother, who will turn 70 in a week, stood there helpless as the Rottweiler mauled Sammy, shaking him violently by his neck.  The Rottweiler decided to stop when it felt satisfied it had killed Sammy as he went limp.

My mother picked up her now blood soaked dog, rushed him into her house trying to figure out if Sammy was still alive.  It was only when she laid him on her kitchen table that she discovered he was still hanging onto life.

Sammy was rushed to Nichols Vetrinary Clinic in Wayne where he was triaged to see the extent of the injury.  The clinic discovered that Sammy had had his trachea punctured and was blowing air out of his neck.  Nichols patched him up, gave him morphine and sent my mother to the Blue Pearl Animal Emergency hospital in Southfield.  Blue Pearl had been notified of Sammy's condition and was ready for him as soon as they arrived.

The hospital did an amazing job with  Sammy.  After a two day stay, his trachea repaired through surgery, Sammy was able to go home.  He was begging for pizza that night!

The hospital bill was extensive, over $4500. My parents had to clean out their bank accounts to save his life because the owner of another dog failed to properly secure their yard.  The timeline is unknown for what will happen to the owner and what their responsibility will be.  In the meantime, my parents ability to support themselves have been affected.  If you have met my parents, you know they love their animals, especially their Schnauzers.  They have rescued and owned this breed almost my entire life (41 years).  Please feel free to reach out to me if you have other questions or would like to see other pictures of the wound or of Sammy begging for pizza!

Sincerely,
Dan Taylor

UPDATE:
After speaking to attorneys, we have discovered that the neighbors dog that attacked Sammy are renting their home and do not carry renters insurance.

Unless a judge makes it part of the settlement for the dog bite, the owners will walk away free and clear of any responsibility except for a ticket!

Texas: Miniature Schnauzer mauled by two pit bulls. Then pit bulls chased down elderly woman, mauling her to the point where she may lose her leg

TEXAS -- A 5-year-old miniature Schnauzer is left bloody and bandaged after an attack by two pit bulls.

But the pup wasn't the only victim.

A 73-year-old woman is also in bad shape after the same dogs ambushed her near her home.

"Here I am with these two pit bulls trying to attack my dog, and taking my fists trying to hit them in the head like that's really going to do something," the owner of the dog said.

The owner and her dog were taking a walk when the pit bulls came for her pup. She had to rush her dog to the veterinary where the dog had to have her tail amputated the owner said.

The 73-year-old woman was also outside walking her dog at the same time as two pit bulls were attacking the miniature Schnauzer.

The pit bulls stopped attacking the Schnauzer and they focused their attention on the 73-year-old woman.

"The chances of that healing are... I mean, she has a real good chance of losing her leg," the 73-year-old woman's friend said.

The woman's friend says this never should've happened to either of the ladies and their dogs.

"But they come through the fence all the time and that gate out front doesn't work so they come through the gate of the complex," the friend said.

She says the property needs to be more secure and the dogs need to be gone.

Maricela Elguezabal said her daughter owns the pit bulls. They were there to keep intruders out.

"They were just protecting the house," Elguezabal said.

She never thought they'd do this, and is reaching out to the victims to help.

"I feel real real bad about that because they are people, they are hurt," Elguezabal said.

BARC currently has the dogs in possession. The owners can sign over the rights or BARC will request a dangerous dog hearing where a judge will decide the fate of the animals.

The property manager of the apartment community says he is addressing residents' concerns. He says the gate is operational, but it keeps getting broken. He says it is something that will be addressed.

If you would like to help the two victims, there is a GoFundMe account set up for each:

Utah: In one week's time in one neighborhood, a Schnauzer is attacked by pit bull and a Chihuahua has his leg ripped off by a 2nd pit bull

UTAH -- FYI to all dog walkers... Shay was attacked by the red pit bull that lives in the first house on Mirror Lake Dr., just past Spencer & Lauren (and Wrigley's!) house tonight.

We were just walking by and he came down his driveway and grabbed her by the throat.

She held her own and is ok, but just a warning to others who may walk their dogs.

Also, not sure if you are aware of another pit bull attack on Kinyon last week -Mikey the Chihuahua was in his front yard when a brown and white pit bull who is frequently at the house with the volleyball court unprovoked grabbed Mikey and literally tore his front leg and shoulder off.

Fingers crossed for Mikey and his mom Trudy. The dog has been seen since still running loose, so please be aware.
