Texas: Pit Bull that chased down and mauled seven-year-old boy, and was found to have attacked a different child in 2014, has been euthanized, say police

TEXAS -- The pit bull mix that mauled a 7-year-old boy in Manor, Texas, in early July has been put down, police said.

According to KXAN, the Manor Police Department said it humanely euthanized the dog in the interest of public safety.

Authorities said the the dog attacked another child in Travis County in 2014.

The dog's owner did not fight the decision.

The dog's most recent victim, Brison Aldridge, suffered six deep lacerations after being surprised by the canine in an unprovoked attack while playing outside on July 3.

Security footage released by Manor police shows the moment the dog runs outside and begins attacking Aldridge.

Police did not charge the owner of the dog, but did issue four citations for having an unregistered and unvaccinated dog that attacked someone without provocation.
