Our beloved 3-1/2 months old Shar Pei is fighting for her life. Our dear "Sushi" got attacked Friday afternoon by an unleashed Pit bull while she was out for a bathroom stop with her two human sisters (3 and 11 year old).
The Pit bull approached the girls out of nowhere and Sushi stood in front of them trying to protect them. She was badly injured and left in a very rough shape.
"Sushi" was already fighting aspiration pneumonia and was making a recovery but due to this attack that nearly killed her, her chances of survival were exponentially diminished.
We are asking our friends and family for financial assistance as she will need immediate surgery to reattach her jaw (broken in two different places) and save her life.
Due to the urgency and complexity of the procedure she will need to be seen at UF in Gainsville and the owner of the Pit bull is not really coming through with his responsibility.
Plans are under way to take this matter to a civil court but until that gets resolved we are in the need to cover her medical expenses and other financial burdens related.
