Colorado: After Yellow Labrador attacked by Pit Bull, Animal Control tells Pit owner dogs "got into a scuffle"

So, last Sunday afternoon Koda (MY Labrador) was attacked by a pit bull, from behind, on the sidewalk and then again in my front yard repeatedly by this dog.

The owners live on the corner across from us in the yellow house...to many of my friends and neighbors, I want to warn you that this is a vicious dog and will not stop until it has killed your severely wound you pet!

The owners stated on the neighborhood website that the dog was lost and they posted pics of this dog with a little dog patrying that the dog is harmless...it is not! Watch you larger size dogs and kiddos!

The owners also have a large hole in the fence where this dog will escape and attack your Larger dogs. The owners stated this dog is aggressive to large animals!!! 

The owners have not been around while I'm home, so I have not had the opportunity to talk with them. I am waiting to discuss how they plan to keep this from happening again to anyone else. Be care out there walking your Larger pets in the Grey Hawk Subdivision! By the way Koda is healing from his injuries very well!

UPDATE: Thank you all! I love the support...I spoke with the owner last night and the Humane Society told them their dog was knotty and got into a scuffle without injuries. So I brought the father over to my house to see the damage to Koda's neck, ear and chest. The father was shocked, scared, and very nervous. 

Bill Jones, if I catch the dog out again, I wont be calling the Humane Society! I will be coming down for a fishing trip.

Illinois: Havanese named Gus is pulled underneath his fence and mauled by two Pit Bulls

ILLINOIS -- On Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018, Gus experienced the greatest trauma that you could imagine. Likewise, our family has experienced every pet-owner's worst nightmare.

Gussy was attacked by two pit bulls. They dragged him out from under the fence in his own backyard. 

 

Among his most severe injuries, Gus's jugular vein was punctured and he lost one of his eyes. He is stable now, but he is still in critical condition. Gus has already had to have emergency surgery and his veterinary care has ended up totaling over $12,000 at only two days into his treatment.

Gus will require continual care, not only to keep him alive, but also to help him through his long and difficult recovery. We, Gus's humans, love him more than we can put into words. He is such an important part of our family, and we are desperate to heal him and bring him back home.

Please, if there is anything you can do to help, it will be greatly appreciated.

Thursday January 8, 2018
Gus had a bit of a rough night last night. The doctors said that he regurgitated a little into his NG tube and they are concerned about that. They also said that they may have to do a blood transfusion today as his numbers are not where they would like them to be. They are changing up his antibiotics and pain meds to get things under control and watching him very closely.

He has been through so much in the last couple of days, but he is fighting to get well and come back home to his family. We were able to bring him his favorite skunk toy yesterday and tell him how much we love him and miss him. He definitely perked up a little when he saw his humans! We’re hoping that today’s visit will reassure him that we are with him and that we cannot wait for him to be well enough to bring him home.

Friday January 5, 2018
The last 24 hours Gus has proven what a strong little guy he is. All of his catheter’s and tubes have been removed, he is eating and drinking on his own and he wants to come home to his family. Grandpa, Hailey, Kameron and Brianna were able to go and visit yesterday and it really lifted Gus’s spirits, he was so happy to see his family.

The prayers from all of our family and friends over the past several days means more than you know to our family. We cannot Thank everyone enough for your generosity and kind words.

We will be able to bring Gus home later this evening and continue to care for him and make him comfortable at home, his wounds will need to be cared for and dressed and he will remain on antibiotics and pain medications.

Everyone who has cared for Gus continues to tell us what a miracle it is that he survived this vicious attack. The staff at Premier Veterinary in Grayslake will forever be our hero’s , their fast action an skilled medical care saved our little guys life.

We still have a long road ahead of us, Gus will follow up with surgeon on Monday.

Update 3
I am happy to report that Gus was well enough to come home last night. He is such a strong little guy. He is adjusting well to seeing the world with just one eye, and to be quite honest it looks like he’s always winking at us. He was so happy to be back at home with his family and his favorite things. He is still in a lot of pain and covered in stitches, but he is taking his medication and making himself comfortable.

We can’t tell you how overwhelming your generosity has been, the donations and prayers for Gus are so very appreciated.

And again to the Grayslake Premier Veterinary staff, you are our heroes! Gus is home with us because of you and your excellent care! Thank you Thank You Thank You!

Update 4
Gus went in for his follow up appointment with his surgeon, they are not happy with his chipped shoulder, it is poking through the skin and causing Gus a lot of pain. They have decided to take him back for another surgery to clean it up and try to ease his pain. Everything else seems to be healing nicely. Gus will go back for another surgery in the next few minutes and hopefully will be home with us again tomorrow.

Thank you all again for your kind words, prayers and generous donations. We know their is a long road to recovery for our poor little guy, but we also know how strong he is. We will keep you updated as we know what’s going on.

Update 5
Gus came home after yesterday’s surgery and was resting comfortably. This evening his neck incision began to show signs of infection, he is on his way back to Grayslake to be seen and treated. We will update when we have a better understanding of what is going on. Please continue to pray for Gus. Hopefully this will be a minor setback and we will be back on the road to recovery soon!

Update 6
Gus followed up with the Vet today and had his drain removed, he is getting stronger and will hopefully be able to get his stitches removed on Tuesday. It looks like what was thought to be infection is part of the healing process and nothing to worry about. He’s eating and drinking on his own and walking outside to go potty on his own. We cannot get over what a strong boy he is. Thank you for your continued support and prayers for Gus!

Gus is getting better every day, he is off a lot of the very strong medications, and his personality is getting back to normal. He is eating and drinking and begging for treats. He started to chew his favorite sticks and play with his toys. Thank you to everyone who brought over goodies for Gus, he is thoroughly enjoying everything, from the delicious food to the treats and all of the toys and blankets. The plan is for Gus to have all of his stitches removed tomorrow!!

Gus had all of his stitches removed yesterday, he is starting to feel more like himself everyday! Today he decided he wanted to play with all of his new toys!

Gus was able to have his first bath today since the attack, he still has so many scabs everywhere from the puncture wounds so it was a very gentle bath.

His neck incision seems to be healing nicely, as well as his shoulder. The eye removal also seems to have healed up quite well, and Gus has really adjusted well to losing his eye.

He still has moments when he overdoes it a little and will let out a yelp reminding him to slow down. All of the muscle damage that he endured is going to take time to heal.

With that being said, we couldn’t be happier that he is home with us, he has been extra snuggly and really seems to be enjoying the comfort of his humans laps.

Hailey, Gus’ favorite human spoke to the Waukegan City Council to try to amend the city ordinances that allowed the dogs who did this to Gus to be labeled  dangerous! We will keep you posted on updates when we know more!

Update 10
We haven’t updated in a while, because Gus has been keeping us very busy, every day his energy level increases and so does his his desire to play and cuddle with his humans. He is healing and getting back in to the swing of things.

We’ve made arrangements to have him groomed after hours while no other dogs are present to make sure that it goes smoothly, his puncture wounds have healed nicely as well as his surgical incisions, so he’s ready to get rid of his funny haircut from all of the shaving for surgery!

Again our family would like to thank you all for your very generous donations and kind words and thoughts. It’s a miracle that Gus is still here with us, and we will treasure every moment that we have with him!

Pitbulls-Just Say No - While yes everyone is happy the dog survived but with the pits still there, for how long? We all know pits, when they don't kill their intended victim, return to finish the job. Those pits should not have been allowed to return and should have been put down. This is why killers need to be put down on spot to ensure no further victims from those individual dogs.

Hailey Renee Schueneman - This is of course the thought I share as Gussy’s owner. Our city’s animal control is run by a bunch of pit bull apologists and pits are the main breed in their shelter. They found the dogs that mauled Gus to be not dangerous.

Florida: After Pit Bulls maul miniature pony nearly to death, Animal Control hands the dogs back to their owners

FLORIDA -- A local family is fighting to keep one of their pets alive after it was attacked by a pack of pit bulls.

The family says their small pony was minding its own business when their neighbor's dogs targeted him Sunday morning in Brooksville.

“He's had these holes here. This leg is just completely chewed up,” said the pony’s owner, Christine Whittum.

From the puncture wounds in his backside to major cuts in his head, you can almost see the pain in the eyes of Whittum’s pony named Gator.

“His ear was totally chewed off. He's got that in there because they can't close it,” said Whittum.

Whittum said Gator has been a member of her family for 20 years, but after an agonizing attack left him with severe injuries, there are few options left.

“You don't put him down unless you think he's going to be miserable,” she said.

 

 

She says it was a neighbor who woke the family up after noticing three pit bulls mauling Gator.

“He was laying down on his side where they had just been ripping his head,” she said.

So when she called county animal control, she expected a different response than what she got.

“We're like, 'Are you going to go down there and look at the horse and make a report?' He goes, 'No, do it yourself,'” said Whittum.

She claims the officer also surprised her by what he did with the dogs once he found them.

“My horse is standing here with his ear hanging off bleeding to death and he took the [Pit Bulls and handed them] back to the owner,” she said. “Once they've killed the way these guys have -- brutally like that -- they need to be put down.”

The family says Gator's survival is about 50-50 and while she’s saddened by his condition, she's also angered by the alleged actions of animal control.

“Taxpayers shouldn't be paying somebody to watch their back if they're not going to watch it,” said Whittum.

FOX 13 reached out to Hernando County Animal Control for a response to Whittum’s claims, but we could not reach anyone for comment.

The investigative body is HCSO and they say all three Pit Bulls have now been seized and they are moving forward with a dangerous dog hearing.

(November 2017) California: Enping Qu, 22, poured boiling water FIVE TIMES onto a screaming dog that was locked in a cage, say police

CALIFORNIA -- Two 17-year-old teens at a Chino Valley park called sheriff’s officials after they watched and video recorded a man at a nearby apartment building pouring scalding water on a caged dog Tuesday evening, according to San Bernardino County sheriff’s officials.

“You could hear the horror in the girl’s voice when she said, ‘Oh my god, is that boiling water?’ ” said Deputy Dan Renear on Wednesday.

The teens were in Pinehurst Park around 5 p.m. when Renear said they heard a dog whimpering.

The 17-year-old boy and girl looked around and spotted the caged dog on the third-story balcony of a nearby apartment building, which was more than 50 yards away.

That’s when Renear said the pair saw a man, later identified as 22-year-old Enping Qu, use a tea kettle to pour water over his girlfriend’s dog.

Renear and a trainee, Dominic Ramirez, tracked down the right unit at the apartment in the 16000 block of Butterfield Ranch Road.

Qu, who spoke very limited English, allowed the deputies into the apartment, where they found the dog, still wet and warm, in the cage in the balcony.

Using Google translator on their phones, deputies learned the dog belonged to Qu’s girlfriend, who was at school, Renear said.

As Ramirez spoke to Qu, Renear spotted an electric tea kettle on a warming plate that had been turned off.

“But when I touched it, that thing was still scorching hot. I couldn’t even put my hand on it,” he said.

 

Because the complex is fairly new and doesn’t show up on all maps, Renear said it took Inland Valley Humane Society officers more than an hour to arrive at the complex.

Note: Seriously, this is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a long time. You couldn't find the address so you drove around for "more than an hour"? 

A Google Maps search shows exactly where the apartment complex is it:

I can't imagine the police just standing around FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR while this little dog, with its burned skin and in horrible pain (they say burn injuries are the most painful of all injuries)... just sat there and suffered. 

“But even after an hour and a half or an hour and 15 minutes, when they tested the water — even after all that time — it was 129 degrees,” Renear said.

Detectives learned Qu poured hot water on the dog five times, according to a sheriff’s statement.

Qu claimed to deputy he "didn't know the water was that hot" and that, the other times he was seen pouring water from the tea kettle over and over onto the dog was, according to him, he "tried to add cold water".

Qu was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty and animal control officers took possession of the dog. It’s unclear if the dog will be returned to its owner, Renear said.

Records indicate Qu was released on bail.

“I’m a dog-lover and it makes you angry,” Renear said. “It was a very sweet and loving little dog.”

Qu, 22, was arrested on suspicion of animal cruelty. Qu quickly posted bail and was released.

Note: Did Mommy and Daddy give him the money? Many Asian countries, including China, don't have animal cruelty laws. They can do whatever they want to animals without repercussion - that's why they boil dogs alive. Likely, he thought he could do whatever he wanted to animals here in the United States without repercussion -- or he simply didn't care.

Walking Daisy two pits came up and attacked her and ripped her from head to toe. She even lost some teeth.

 

 

She's in surgery now and I'm praying she's alright.

Animal control picked up the dogs came returned them to their owner Christopher McCullough.

Calling a attorney to see if there's anything I can do with them paying her $500 Vet bill.

Animal control took pictures and there's witnesses. Florida has the worse laws of any state I've lived in. Animal Control said I'd have to sue for damages. This never should have happened. Blood is everywhere!

 

 

 

 

 

Ohio: In July, this Pit Bull attacked a child. Animal Control did nothing. Now it's burst into a fenced yard, chased, attacked and mauled to death an elderly woman's beloved Poodle.

DAYTON, OHIO -- UPDATE @ 7 P.M. (Dec 18)

A pit bull that mauled a family’s small white poodle to death now faces euthanasia. The pit bull is currently in quarantine at the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center and will likely be be euthanized according to employees at the resource center.

 

 

Dayton Police say this is not the first altercation between the pit bull and the family of the deceased poodle. 

In July the pit bull reportedly attacked a child playing in the yard and bit her in the chest.

And what did Animal Control do about it then? Apparently nothing. 

The pit bull’s owners are currently facing a misdemeanor charge for failing to control their dog.

Within 12 hours, a 73-year-old Dayton woman lost her daughter to illness, and then her best friend, 9-year-old poodle Rosie, to an attack by an aggressive dog.

Joyce Ford let out her three dogs, Rosie, Louis and Missy, around 6:45 a.m. Saturday into the fenced-in backyard of her home in the 200 block of Smith Road in Dayton.

Shortly after, she and her son, Shawn Montague, said they heard a lot of barking outside.

“We looked out the window and we saw a great pit pull that was trying to break up under neath the fence. The dog actually got up underneath the fence, grabbed the dog and ripped the dog to pieces,” Montague said. “It was a terrible thing to see.”

Montague and his mother tried to save Rosie, but to no avail. He grabbed the dog’s tail and flung it, but it wouldn’t dislodge.

“My mom got a screwdriver and tried to stab the dog in the back and the screwdriver broke,” he said. “The other dogs were trying to attack the pit bull so I tried to grab them up so they wouldn’t get attacked, too.”

When he saw the dogs insides spilled out, he turned to his mother and told her to go inside, that her dog is gone.

Witnesses helped to get the dog secured and chained to a pole.

This is a difficult time for his mother, Montague said.

“Right now, she’s making arrangements to bury my sister and on top of that she loses her best friend ... and then, the way it happened. I didn’t want to her to witness it but when she saw it, it was devastating,” he said.

 

When Dayton police officers arrived, they found the pit bull chained to a fence post with “blood on the pit bull’s mouth, jawline area and on the chest area, where there was a white patch of fur,” according to an incident report.

It also stated the dog barked at a small child who came outside a nearby residence and “began to aggressively bark towards the child and tried to break loose from the chain.”

 

This Pit Bull just killed a dog and six months ago 

attacked a child and she dares to say it's not aggressive?!

According to a Dayton police report, a 27-year-old woman at the house where the pit bull lives said the dog belongs to her ex-boyfriend but that she lets the dog stay at her home.

That dog and the deceased poodle were taken by police to the Montgomery County Animal Resource Center.

Director Mark Kumpf said the pit bull is being held at ARC pending the Dayton police investigation and location of its owner.

No one has been cited in the incident.

You know who Mark Kumpf is don't you? Apparently outraged citizens haven't been successful in getting him replaced after his agency let a woman get mauled to death by dogs she'd repeatedly called and complained about. She repeatedly begged them to do something to protect her. They all blew her off and now she's dead. Her name was Klonda Richey.
