Seven months ago, two Pit Bull dogs attacked and injured a woman while she was walking her dog.
She survived but her dog was killed. The owner of the dogs was punished.
[I don't think this is right. All the earlier stories say her Chihuahua, Jose, was OK.]
Now, we have learned that Anthony Hill is in jail accused of violating his probation and accused of owning another dog.
Officials said Hill is not supposed to have a dog, weapons or drugs as part of his probation. However, his probation officer is looking into whether Hill was in possession of all three.
Ironically, the investigation began with the woman who was attacked.
Linda McGaughey said, "My live was changed in an instant."
She said she still bears the scars from her dog attack on September 14, 2010.
"By the grace of God, I didn't lose my leg and I'm walking again," said McGaughey.
Linda returned to John Sale Manor where she is the property manager. Anthony Hill, who owned the Pit Bull dogs that attacked her, still lives across the street.
"Residents kept telling me that they've got dogs," said Linda.
Knowing that this would be a violation of his probation, Linda started taking pictures.
"I'm standing here and all the sudden I see a black and white Pit Bull on a leash," said Linda. "My heart sank and my blood pressure rose and I thought, 'what was he thinking?'"
After talking with Linda, Chief probation officer Bobby Robbins went to Hill's home for a visit.
Robbins said, "It appeared to be dog feces in the trash can."
Robbins said he found no dogs outside Hill's home but something else in the yard got his attention.
"A couple of plants growing looked like marijuana," said Robbins.
Anthony Hill was arrested. In court on Thursday, Judge Michael Murray said, "The allegations found several guns, marijuana, paraphernalia, rounds of ammunition and knives which according to your probation officer, violates your terms of probation."
Owning a dog would also violate Hill's probation, but Robbins said Hill claims the dog food and water bowls at his house were still there from the former dogs.
Linda McGaughey still believes Hill had a Pit Bull in his possession.
"He should be held responsible and accountable for the decisions he has made," Linda said.
Hill is being held without bond. Officials said he could also face weapons charges.
