Bless you all for your donations and continued prayers.

From late last night. GAIL MESSAGED diane THIS ALSO. PLEASE KEEP PRAYING: Nellie was nauseous from the meds and having trouble with the teach tube...

Nellie is going to stay here at the ER tonight. She is vomiting and keeps shaking so hard. We turned around one mile out and went back.

Canada: After Kevin Newman's Pit Bull crushed a little Sheltie mix to death, he ran off with his dog - and is now blaming the Sheltie's owners for his death

CANADA -- A horrifying incident in Coal Harbour has left a Vancouver dog owner shattered.

Security camera footage from a balcony overlooking a stretch of the Seawall in Coal Harbour shows an unleashed Pit Bull locate its target, a Sheltie American Eskimo dog being walked on a leash. The Sheltie owners pause (first mistake) while the Pit Bull and the Sheltie sniff each other.

Suddenly the Pit Bull launches an attack on the Sheltie. Its owner, Farshid Tabari, swings his dog by its harness up into the air with the Pit Bull jumping up and grabbing the smaller dog. It yanks the poor dog right out of its harness and begins crushing it with several bites.

You see them finally separate the Pit Bull from the Sheltie and the owner casually walks off with his dog.

Update: He has been identified as KEVIN NEWMAN

“As soon as I put him down, he dropped down and did not move at all,” Farshid Tabari, the owner of the injured dog, said.

The injured dog was rushed to a vet but died from its injuries over the weekend.

The attack happened a week ago Sunday.

"PIT AN RUN"
Animal control officers are trying to locate the attacking dog and its owner, who left the scene.

The owner is believed to have been wearing a grey-and-white patterned jacket and had a neck tattoo behind his left ear.

Note: He has been identified online as KEVIN NEWMAN.

An online fundraiser to cover the cost of Tabari’s veterinary bills.

VIDEO NEWS CLIP #1:

This video irritates me. Yes, these people are victims but they don't have to have a victim mentality. YOU DO WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO PROTECT YOURSELVES, YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR PETS. They have the mannerisms of victims. This damn dog comes by... why would you ever let your dog near it?

You tell yourself you'd stab the pit bull with a pocketknife or that you'd put it into a chokehold and strangle it to death. But this little Sheltie is, as they say "dead man walking", AFTER THE FIRST BITE. It only took one bite for the Pit Bull to crush the internal organs of this Sheltie. Once the Pit Bull jumped into the air and grabbed the Sheltie, the fight was over before it had even begun.

Despite what Pit Bull apologists claim, Pit Bulls have incredible bite strength. This Pit Bull leapt into the air and grabbed hold of the Sheltie. For a split second you can see the Sheltie in the air with the Pit Bull, also completely in the air, hanging onto the Sheltie.

That was enough to mortally wound the little Sheltie named Max. When they land onto the ground, the Sheltie doesn't move and the Pit Bull releases it.

They're busy grabbing and leashing the Pit Bull while the Sheltie never moves. He's a dying lump on the ground. The owner picks up her Sheltie and cradles him in her arms.

Then after their dog has been mortally wounded, they appear to attempt to talk with the Pit Bull owner who simply walks off with his dog. They put their dying Sheltie onto the ground and then stand there, looking confused.

I am NOT blaming the Sheltie's owners. They were naive - and Max paid the price for their naivety.

Follow your laws, but prepare yourself. Think like military and law enforcement -- have a winning mindset. You and your loved ones will make it home safely. Legally carry a taser, pocketknife, firearm. Plan for what you will do if something happens. DO NOT BE A VICTIM!

UPDATE:
Tabari told CTV News the owners of the other dog acted aggressively towards him before walking away.

"He didn't offer help or say, ‘How's your dog doing?’" Tabari said.

"CTV Vancouver reached out to the other person in the video, Kevin Newman, who says CLAIMS he hung around for 10 minutes after the attack, but the security video shows him and a woman leaving after just one minute.

“I would never wish any dog to be hurt,” Newman said over the phone. ”I'm a dog lover.”

“I tried to give my information. I told them to call the cops.”

Animal Control is now investigating the incident while the British Columbia SPCA says one way to prevent such attacks is to keep your pet on a leash.

BLAMING THE VICTIM
Newman, on the other hand, is at least partially blaming the leash for Max’s injuries.

“He had a little rope harness on the dog, that's probably what made the internal bleeding,” Newman said.

This was their GoFundMe page:

On January 21st, our poor little Max was attacked while walking on the Coal Harbour seawall with his mom and dad. Max was leashed, but the attacking Pitbull was not. Max was tossed through the air and pinned down before his owners could separate them.

Max was seen by a veterinarian immediately with bills exceeding $2000. Over the course of the next week, Max’s condition worsened and he was rushed back to the hospital with further bills reaching $5000.

On Saturday evening, after discovering internal bleeding, Max’s family had to make the difficult decision to euthanize him. We’re seeking funds to assist Max’s family pay for the cost associated with the veterinary care.

(October 2017) West Virginia: More than 50 Dogs and Goats Seized from Elderly Woman's Kanawha County Farm

WEST VIRGINIA -- Dozens of herding dogs were seized from a Kanawha County farm Monday in an animal neglect case.

Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association along with several law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant and raided the home, taking 56 dogs into the KCHA's care.

The home is in the small town of Liberty, just outside Sissonville.

The property owner, a woman in her 80s, kept dozens of dogs chained to the inside of a crumbling barn. Shafer’s team called the conditions “clear-cut neglect.”

As Kanawha-Charleston Humane Association vets are taking a preliminary look at the animals, they're finding injuries, illness, signs of breeding and pain. KCHA doesn't know how long the dogs were living on the farm, but we know tonight they are safe.

"It's heart-wrenching to see. This is one of those things that we hear about it, but you never really understand the level of neglect until you get here and see it for yourself," Jessie Shafer, Director of Development for KCHA, told 13 News.

Some of the 56 animals were found in fenced areas, others chained to small stalls in several barns on the property.

"Nobody can care for this amount of animals properly. Nobody can meet basic needs of animals when you have this many animals running around. And the fact that they're chained to barn stalls, not able to move freely, not able to drink water," Shafer added.

KCHA isn't sure how long the homeowner has had this many Collies, Australian Shepards, and Black & Tans, or how long they were being mistreated.

"Their water is dirty if there is any. So we don't know whether they have parasitic issues or not. There are various degrees of matting situations that are going on, which can cause skin infections and severe pain," Shafer explained.

No one knew the animals were living on the remote farm until a local came by looking to buy wood from the homeowner.

"As soon as he made his way to the property, he realized there were dozens and dozens of animals in distress. So he reached out to a Humane Officer- which is always the right thing to do. And we took immediate action," Shafer said.

Several goats were found on the property, and also taken into the shelter.

Shafer says the owner signed over 49 dogs to the humane association. The owner refused to surrender ownership of the remaining seven dogs (no mention about the goats). She will have to go to court to fight to get them returned to her. No charges have been filed as of Monday afternoon.

Missouri: Two Pit Bulls ran into woman's yard attacking her small dogs, killing their seven-month-old Sheltie named Sadie and injuring their other Sheltie

MISSOURI -- Susan Fahy Kermoade‎City of Canton, Missouri posted on Facebook on August 27, 2017 ·

On August 25th, our 4 dogs were attacked by 2 pit bull dogs that lived next door to my mother-in-law on Grant street.

All 4 dogs were in our yard, minding their own business, not barking at anything or anyone.

Out of nowhere, these pit bulls came charging & attacked our 7 month old, 10 lb toy Sheltie. She later succumbed to her injuries from a punctured/collapsed lung.

They also got a hold of our 10 yr old Sheltie but she was able to fight back & survived. My husband pinned down 1 dog by his knee & while pulling on our 10 yr old Sheltie, he got bit.

These owners had no chains on these vicious dogs, still have not provided proof of rabies shots & are still allowed to be in their home while our sweet, beloved baby is gone.

We want justice for Sadie by these dogs being euthanized! They are vicious, aggressive dogs & should not be around animals or children. My mother-in-law is 76 yrs old, she would not stand a chance against those savage beasts.

North Carolina: In 2003, AKC breeder Anita Brown was caught hoarding 97 animals inside her house. They let her plead guilty to ONE count of animal cruelty. Now she's been caught with nearly 40 animals in the same house of horrors. Good job Hanover County! Maybe if you'd been tougher with her back then, animals wouldn't have suffered and died for the last 14 years.

NORTH CAROLINA -- An animal cruelty investigation that began in March led to the arrest of a Wilmington woman Friday.

Anita Brown is charged with 37 counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty after 37 dogs were removed from her home in the 100 block of Fairford Road.

She was taken to the New Hanover County Detention Facility and given a $19,000 bond.

According to a release from the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office, Brown had been warned "on several occasions" that the dogs' living conditions in her home were not adequate.

In 2003, Brown was caught with nearly 100 animals inside this same house. She was breeding (and hoarding) Shelties and Whippets. She also had dozens of birds - parrots and cockatiels - living in squalor. Prosecutors, instead of doing their jobs and getting her on 97 counts of animal cruelty, let her plead to ONE COUNT of animal cruelty.

Officers with the NHCSO's Animal Services Unit executed the search warrant at Brown's home on Friday.

All the dogs were taken to the New Hanover County Animal Shelter. They will stay there until a decision is made when Brown has her trial.

This is an ongoing investigation.

Rhode Island: Two Pit Bulls jump fence and attack man and his Sheltie-Collie mix. Officer that arrives shoots both Pit Bulls dead to stop attack. Pit Bull owner says his Pitties were "provoked"!

RHODE ISLAND -- A man was injured when he was attacked by two dogs in Warwick Tuesday night, according to police.

Witnesses told NBC 10 News that two pit bulls jumped the fence and attacked the man, identified as 57-year-old Robert Joyal, who was walking his dogs on Titus Lane at about 6 p.m.

“Oh, he was right on top of him, shaking him like a rag dog,” Paul Taylor, who said he saw the attack, told NBC 10.

Taylor said he dropped his gardening tools and started running down the street to help.

“I noticed a dog on top of another dog, giving it a good beating,” he said.

Taylor said the pair of pit bulls wouldn't let go of the man's Sheltie-Collie mix. The man's second dog ran away.

“I ran down there and I was going to help anyway I could,” Taylor said. “Thank god the police officer was there and took care of it very quick.”

Warwick Officer John Zaborski happened to be nearby, according to Taylor.

When Zaborski approached, police said both dogs went after him. Zaborski stunned one of the attacking canines with his Taser, but he had no time to subdue the other aggressive dog using non-lethal means. Fearing himself or bystanders could get hurt, police said the Zaborski killed the second dog with two shots from his service weapon.

Police said Officer Zaborski went to tend to Joyal and the smaller dog, but the dog he had Tased revived and resumed its attack. The officer tried to fight off the dog, which police said kept lunging and biting at him.

Meanwhile, the man is screaming, his little Sheltie mix is screaming and they're both being viciously mauled by the two attacking Pit Bulls.

He had to do SOMETHING to stop them.

“When he wouldn't get off, the cop shot that dog and stopped it,” Taylor said.

When the second Pit Bull didn't run away and instead came after him, the officer shot and killed it too.

Even underneath the fear and the adrenaline, Taylor remembers hearing at least three shots fired before both pit bulls were killed.

NBC 10 arrived around 6:45 p.m. as officers were processing the scene. Two dead dogs, which were laying in the street, were covered in white sheets.

NBC 10 asked Taylor if the shots seemed necessary.

“Yes, yes. Definitely,” he said.

Police later told NBC 10 that they had to use force, which resulted in them shooting both pit bulls.

Authorities said the man was rushed to a hospital and that his dog was taken to a veterinarian. Their conditions were not immediately available.

It was also unknown if any charges would be filed.

Earlier in the evening, police had blocked off the end of Titus Lane where the street meets Post Road.

A group of people stood outside 658 Post Road near a fence along Titus Lane.

After police left, they swore at a Providence Journal reporter who approached on the street to take a photo of the property.

A neighbor declined to comment.

Police said in a news release Wednesday that their initial investigation determined Officer John Zaborski’s actions “were lawful and necessary to protect the lives of citizens and him[self] from serious bodily injury.”

UPDATE TO STORY:

The owner of both dogs told Eyewitness News their names were Buddy and Bella. Buddy was a six-year-old Full-Blooded Texas Red Nose Pit Bull. Bella was a seven-year-old half Pit Bull, half Terrier.

What in the hell is a Texas Red Nose Pit Bull? And a "half Pit Bull, half Terrier"? Give me a break. They both look like Pit Bulls to me.

“Everyone loved them and they loved everyone. They weren’t mean dogs,” Amanda Hallock, the sister of the owner, said.

The dog’s owner said Bella got out on Tuesday night, and when a neighbor went to put her back in their yard, the gate didn’t close. Still, Hallock said the smaller dog provoked the pit bulls on Tuesday night. “That dog was antagonizing them and it was just an accident.”
