United Kingdom: Pit Bull attacks and mauls deer to death. Owner pulls a "pit and run" and flees with her mauler (of course)

UNITED KINGDOM -- A deer had to be put down after suffering serious injuries following a dog attack in Aberdeen.

The incident happened on Ashwood Avenue in the Bridge of Don area of the Granite City yesterday.

Police were called about the incident on the residential street that is believed to have involved a Staffordshire pit bull terrier.

The deer had to be put down due to its severe injuries.

A spokesman from Police Scotland said the Scottish SSPCA had been informed about the attack.

Can you post this please?
In the Ashwood area this afternoon (on a residential street) a deer had to be put down by a vet because it was attacked violently by a pit bull type dog. We aren't sure what happened with the dog afterwards as the priority was the deer and getting hold of a vet asap and contacting the police.

So can people please be sure to keep their dogs on a lead, especially around wild animals so this doesn't happen again!

Kelsea Laird - This was outside my door where our car was parked, was horrific to see this poor animal fighting for life ☹️ Terrifying when I have a 2 year old son walking to our car daily and my own little dog who could have been attacked by this vicious animal

Joanne Lynsey Ross - Did you see what color the dog was?

Kelsea Laird - It was a black staffy😕 The owner came over and put its lead back on and it let go the deer straight away but it was too late 😕

Angela Stewart - Kelsea Laird, do you know who’s dog it was? Poppy is always wandering about outside when we come out of the car - makes me a bit nervous as she’s 15 x

Kelsea Laird - Thank you Angela The dog was growling viciously and was shaking the deer about ☹️ My dog is fine thank you🙂 I'll definitely be carrying her to the car from now on as she usually just follows me and has a wonder around while I get my son in the car but couldn't bare to think of my little doggy being thrown around like that, she wouldn't stand a chance 😩 Are you Ashwood too? Xx

Tracey Dow - Kelsea Laird, she just walked off?

Kelsea Laird Tracey Dow - Well she came over and put the dog back onto its lead, I heard her say "oh my god" a few times, then walked away towards the bus stop and then I heard her ask the men who tried to help the deer if they were going to phone the police which they told her they had already done and she went off into the moors.

I'm shocked she didn't stay until the police or whoever arrived but I'm guessing she was maybe in shock her dog just killed another animal 😕 I thought she might have came back when she calmed down but I didn't see her return 😕

Um, no she wasn't in shock. She was pulling a well-known "PIT AND RUN"

I phoned my husband and told him and described her to him and on his way home, he seen her walking with someone else and the dog up the moors😕 xx

Kelsea Laird Tracey Dow - It was actually scary how much the dog changed! It was viciously throwing this deer around one minute and as soon as she approached the dog to put its lead on it let go and just stood by her side and wagged its tail 😳 like a completely different dog!

United Kingdom: Shad’a McQueen stabbed her dog several times, slit its throat then left it to slowly die in agony. The judge gave her probation

UNITED KINGDOM -- A woman who slit her dog’s throat after going on a booze binge has been banned from owning an animal again.

Shad’a McQueen attacked her pet bull dog on October 29 last year after a night out drinking with an ex-girlfriend, Croydon Magistrates Court heard this week.

The 33-year-old armed herself with a knife and set upon her pet dog at her home in South Norwood in south London, stabbing it several times in the body. The court heard how she then used the same knife to slash the dog’s throat.

She then called the police and when officers arrived, the female dog was found to be ‘close to death’ and was taken to a vet and put down.

GIVEN PROBATION FOR HORRIFIC CRIME
McQueen pleaded guilty to stabbing her dog and causing the pet unnecessary suffering and was handed a four-month jail term, suspended for 18 months. She was also ordered to do 60 hours of unpaid work and was banned from owning animals for an indefinite period.

Judge Susan Holden told McQueen that ‘no animal’ should have to ‘go through what your dog was put through’. She added: ‘This is a deeply distressing case. ‘It’s clear that your dog must have suffered unnecessarily.’

Despite the courts stating that she was banned from owning animals for "an indefinite period", they immediately told her she could go visit her other dog. That would be the one she didn't stab repeatedly and then slit its throat, leaving it lying there in agony, slowly dying.

When sentenced at Croydon Magistrates’ Court, the 33-year-old found out she may one day be able to own a dog again.

She walked free from court and was told she will be able to visit her other, shared pet dog - if accompanied - who she owns along with an ex-girlfriend.

This is how this ridiculous woman dresses for court.

United Kingdom: Gizmo hangs on for 6 agonizing days before dying from horrific Pit Bull attack

UNITED KINGDOM -- On Saturday 10th of February 2018 I took my beloved Gizmo out for his usual walk in his usual place nothing out of the ordinary..

we turned a corner and could see another dog running loose with its owner, I automatically put him on a short lead as I always do when we meet other dogs as all good owners and handlers do.. this said dog is a PIT BULL!!

It spotted Gizmo and came running at him grabbed him by his scruff and threw him in the air there followed a horrific attack which lasted 15 minutes or possibly more ..

during this time the dog was uncontrollable the owner could do nothing with it.

the dog eventually let Gizmo go, I scooped him up in my arms and turned my back in that split second the dog jumped up at me and snatched Gizmo from my arms.

Again the dog would not let go, the said owner dived on the dog and was screaming at me to grab Gizmo and run with him (good ehh).. I proceeded to punch and kick this dog to get it to let go of my precious Gizmo he wouldn't harm a fly!!

In this time again the owner was laying on the dog still screaming at me to grab Gizmo and run. The said dog again let go I scooped Gizmo up and cradled him but the dog jumped up again and snatched Gizmo from my arms. The noise was horrendous and something which I'll never forget..

again the dog let go with all the screaming and shouting the said dog managed to get free and snatched Gizmo for the third and final time but this time sends shivers down my spine as the noise my darling Gizmo made as he was pulled by his back leg I can not describe.

Many of my neighbours heard the racket and came running out to help us, it took two men to wrestle the dog off gizmo and get the dog under control and back on its harness!! Yes it had no collar on or harness! One of these men escorted the dog and owner back to her property whilst the other scooped Gizmo and myself up and drove us to the Vets!!

But as I'm writing this totally heartbroken and so so angry it is with such sadness that I have to say after 6 days having intensive care from the vets my beloved chunky monkey sadly passed away late last night from a massive cardiac arrest!

We have been left with a tremdous vets bill and the said owner is unlikely to pay anything towards this, so I'm hoping that this story tugs on the hearts of all you dog lovers out there to help us with as much or as little as you possibly can.. Thankyou x

United Kingdom: Horror injuries of girl, 7, mauled in her face by neighbor’s Husky – and owner continues to walk dog past their house every day

UNITED KINGDOM -- A mom has shared horrific pictures of bloody dog bite marks on her daughter's face, as the pet responsible is still being walked daily past her family home.

Kerry Garforth’s seven-year-old Mia was attacked in June last year and she has decided to speak out as the owner is still exercising the husky around their West Yorkshire village.

Kerry, 33, said: “I want to make everyone aware of a dog that gets walked round Roberttown/Norristhorpe, it’s a Husky and is walked by a man in his mid-30s. This dog bit my daughter in the face for which she needed nine stitches.”

The mum-of-two said she asked an old school friend to look after Mia while she went for a hospital appointment and went back to pick up her daughter.

Kerry said: “I was sitting on the sofa chatting to my friend and Mia was with her son having some tea. Suddenly I heard Mia screaming. The dog had bitten her after trying to take some food from her plate. She was stood there shaking.

“We took her to Dewsbury Hospital but she was transferred to Pinderfields where she had about eight to nine injections and the wounds cleaned out with salt water.

“My daughter’s father reported it to the police but when they came to see me about three to four days later I must admit I down-played it as she and her partner were friends and I didn’t want to get them into trouble.”

However her friendship with her old friend has since disintegrated and she says she feels guilty about not protecting her daughter better.

She says on Facebook: “He continues to walk past my house with the dog which is not only very upsetting for my daughter but I have to live with the guilt of what that dog did because I was at their house when it bit her.

“The dog should never have been left alone with the children and I have to live with it, I think it’s very unfair I’m getting reminded by seeing the dog myself and seeing my daughter upset.

"Yes, it’s a public road but there’s absolutely no need for him to walk past my house.

“Roberttown is a village full of children and I just want to warn anyone that has children playing out to be cautious.

“I’m not saying the dog will do anything but considering the circumstances I’m now making it known to you all.”

She said her daughter, who has since recovered, is now anxious around dogs and added the attack left her stressed about Mia.

United Kingdom: Judge ignores victim's impact statement and gives Emil Gorecki, 23, probation after his banned Pit Bull attacked ten-year-old girl

UNITED KINGDOM -- A Polish man returned to Wales to face justice after his illegal fighting dog attacked a 10-year-old girl on Deeside.

A warrant had been issued for the arrest of Emil Gorecki, 23, following the incident in September 2016 which left the girl with serious injuries to her arm.

Appearing at Wrexham Magistrates Court, Gorecki admitted owning the American pit bull dog which sank its teeth into the girl after she had stopped by the Polish man’s back yard to stroke a kitten he owns.

Gorecki, who walked up to the court building wearing a sweatshirt sporting the words “Pit Bull” in silver letters, spoke to confirm his name, date of birth and address and followed proceedings with the aid of an interpreter.

This was done to mock that little girl who was mauled by his Pit Bull.

Justin Espie, prosecuting, said at about 7.30pm on September 9 the girl had left home to visit a friend but, after finding she was not in, she returned home down an alleyway.

She saw a kitten at the rear of the defendant’s address on Chevrons Road, Shotton, and as she stopped to stroke it she noticed a very aggressive-looking dog looking at her from the patio window.

The dog had then run out from the house and sniffed the 10-year-old before jumping up and latching on to her arm with no warning.

In her statement the girl described it as a “hard bite” and “very painful” but Gorecki, then 22, had managed to hit the dog causing it to loosen its grip.

Gorecki’s sister then took the girl inside the house where she removed her coat and Gorecki tended to her wounds with a towel.

The little girl described feeling “frightened and upset” and although she could not understand what Gorecki and his sister were saying she realised they wanted to take her home.

On taking her home, the Polish pair tried to explain what happened before her mother called an ambulance.

At the hospital she was found to have a deep laceration to her arm requiring stitches and she was put on a course of antibiotics and painkillers.

The dog was seized and taken to an undisclosed location where it was examined by a police dog handler and confirmed as a prohibited American pit bull.

A victim statement by the girl’s mother was read to court which said the girl could no longer put weight on her arm and was scared to do handstands.

The mother added her daughter struggled to lift herself out of the swimming pool and how the incident had completely changed her outlook.

The scarring was permanent and she had become self conscious and covered her arm at all times.

David Matthews, defending, claimed Gorecki, who was accompanied by an interpreter, was “extremely sorry” and added he was “shocked” as the dog had never behaved aggressively before.

Gorecki claimed he had bought the dog two years previously in Stoke-on-Trent and believed it to be a Stafforshire bull terrier after having it inspected by a vet and the RSPCA.

Where's the proof that he had it "inspected by a vet and the RSPCA" and that they agreed that it was a Staffordshire pit bull?

SURPRISED OWNER
He claimed the dog had always been safe with children previously.

“[The Pit Bull] behaved in a way that was completely out of character,” said Mr Matthews who added that although Gorecki was fond of the dog, he had no objection to it being destroyed.

A probation report from Andrew Connah said the Polish man had returned to Wales to resolve the matter and although he was intending to return to his homeland where he had a four-month-old daughter, he would take full responsibility and would stay at his sister’s house for the duration of any punishment.

District judge Gwyn Jones said: “I’ve listened very carefully and taken into accout the impact this has had on the young girl. It has had a physical impact through the marks on her arms which young girls take very seriously and it has also impaired her confidence about doing things 10-year-old girls should do.

“You acted properly, you controlled the dog, provided care for the girl and ensured she was taken home – but the lack of safety measures could have been foreseen by you.”

Mr Jones sentenced Gorecki to 26 weeks in prison for the first offence of being a person in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury and 18 weeks for the offence of possessing a fighting dog.

Both sentences are to run concurrently and were suspended for a year.

Gorecki will also carry out 180 hours of unpaid work and not be allowed to own a dog for six years.

He must also pay £600 compensation alongside £85 costs and a victim surcharge of £115.

Mr Jones also ordered that the dog is destroyed.

United Kingdom: Police say Kyle Keegan, 23, posted video to Snapchat showing him beating a puppy with a hammer and then cooking it to death in a microwave

UNITED KINGDOM -- A fight has broken out in a courtroom during the appearance of a man charged in connection with an alleged hammer attack on an 11-week-old puppy.

The 23-year-old man's mother clashed with animal rights activists inside the court after angry remarks were shouted at her son.

Kyle Keegan, of Gilpins Manor, Lurgan, Co Armagh, appeared before Craigavon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday charged with animal cruelty.

Standing in the dock, Keegan simply nodded to confirm his name and the charge against him.

They're accusing Keegan of beating the 11-week-old puppy to death with a hammer and then cooking it inside a microwave. Someone videotaped the torture death and then uploaded it onto Snapchat, which has become the app of choice for animal torturers and abusers to brag about their heinous crimes.

It is believed footage of the alleged attack was shared on social media platforms including Snapchat on Saturday.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has appealed for any information.

Detectives have called for anyone who has seen the footage or has photographs of the incident to come forward.

As he was remanded in custody, a number of animal rights activists shouted angrily at him.

His mother approached one of the activists, and insisted: "He was brought up decent. He was brought up well," before leaving the courtroom.

Keegan was arrested on Tuesday after police were made aware that a puppy had been killed in an alleged hammer attack on Saturday at an apartment in Ailsbury Park, Lurgan.

No bail application was made, and Keegan was remanded in custody for four weeks.

The case was adjourned to March 2 when Keegan will appear before the court via videolink.

United Kingdom: Boy, 7, in hospital after being savagely attacked by dog at Stoke-on-Trent beauty spot

UNITED KINGDOM -- A seven-year-old boy is being treated in hospital after being attacked by a dog at a popular beauty spot.

The youngster was savagely bitten on the leg as he returned to the car park at Westport Lake in Longport following a walk with his family.

He is now undergoing treatment at the Royal Stoke University Hospital for a severe wound.

The dog – believed to be a Staffordshire pit bull terrier – ran off when adults intervened but no owner was in sight.

Now police have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses following the attack, which happened at 5pm yesterday (January 31).

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: “There were a number of other people in the area at the time and these potential witnesses are urged to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 686 of January 31.

Westport Lake, created alongside the Trent & Mersey Canal, is Stoke-on-
Trent's largest expanse of water and consists of two lakes, and a nature reserve.
It's one of the best places in the area for bird-watching and walking.

United Kingdom: Disgusting couple walk out of court with NO jail time after subjecting animals to horrific conditions

UNITED KINGDOM -- A couple have been banned from keeping animals for a decade after a number of pets were found in ‘squalid’ conditions – surrounded by urine and human feces.

Robert Roy Rickman, 45, and Ceri Ann Rickman, 32, both of Parc Newydd, Briton Ferry, had both previously admitted causing unnecessary suffering to 15 domestic cats, and failing to take reasonable steps to ensure the needs of two dogs were met.

Those are bottles of urine

An RSPCA officer attended the property in June 2017, and found cats in a ‘horrendous’ condition roaming the filthy property. Two dogs – one brindle lurcher and a collie mix – were also living at the home.

The cats were “all riddled with fleas”, and many malnourished and with degrees of hair loss.

Mr Tarrant said when the RSPCA inspector left the house to take a breather from the “foul odour” inside, he found his trousers were “crawling with fleas”.

Human and animal feces was found across the property, urine was thrown into rooms in plastic bottles, mess was sprawled across the building and an overpowering smell was evident throughout.

ROBERT RICKMAN PREVIOUSLY CONVICTED OF ANIMAL CRUELTY
The court heard Robert, who had previously gone by the name Robert Ford, has a previous conviction from 1998 for causing unnecessary suffering to an animal under the old Protection of Animals Act 1911.

NO JAIL TIME FOR EITHER ANIMAL ABUSER
During sentencing at Swansea Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, both were given a ten-year ban on keeping all animals and a community order. They were each told to pay costs of £300, in addition to a victim surcharge of £85.

Thankfully, after all animals were signed into the RSPCA’s care, they were rehabilitated and sent to animal centers across England and Wales for adoption.

RSPCA inspector Neill Manley said: "This was a thoroughly grim and hugely challenging case, in some of the worst conditions I have witnessed in my entire life.

"I arrived at the property on one of the hottest days of the year, and was shell-shocked at the squalid conditions in which animals were living.

"Cats roamed the house in a truly horrendous condition, while two dogs were clearly being kept in a wholly inappropriate environment. The property was totally infested with fleas, and a number of the cats had developed an allergic reaction which was not treated. It’s a timely reminder as to the importance of seeking veterinary attention in such situations as soon as possible.

"Across the house, there were plastic bottles or urine, plus cardboard boxes filled with feces and spread across the floors.

"The condition of the animals was absolutely heartbreaking, and it beggars all belief that anyone deemed it acceptable to keep animals in such filthy, squalid surroundings.

"Fortunately, the RSPCA’s intervention ensured all animals were signed into our care – and could go on for rehoming, and a second chance of happiness.

"That happy outcome is a reminder as to the exact reason why the RSPCA exists."
