Montcalm County woman injured after pit bull attack

"They pulled me to the ground. It amazed
me just how strong the dogs were."
MICHIGAN -- The owner of two pit bulls could face charges after the animals attacked a Montcalm County woman.

Around 9:15 a.m. Thursday, Linda Adamthwaite, 38, told sheriff's deputies she was walking along Yankee Road, near Marble Road, when the dogs approached her. She says she tried to ignore them, but the dogs circled her, then knocked her to ground and bit her several times.

A neighbor heard Adamthwaite's cries for help, and assisted her.

Brave neighbor Michelle Pepke rushed to help
"I heard some blood curdling screams and here's this
woman on the ground w/two dogs attacking her."

She was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Adamthwaite tells WZZM 13 she was bit multiple times in the legs, hands and rear.

Investigators say a family member was caring for the pit bulls and detained them until Animal Control arrived on the scene. The animals are now under quarantine for 10 days.
