Pit Bull attacks one child, another fleeing child hit by car

BINGHAMTON, NY -- Police said a ticket was issued to the owner and the dog was sent to the Front Street Dog Shelter following the pitbull's attack on a young girl at Main and Beethoven Streets last Friday night.

According to a police report, newly-released to Fox 40 News, a second girl, running from the dog, was hit by a car.

Both girls were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.

Investigators said Melvin Vazquez was cited for violation of a city ordinance requiring dogs to be leashed, and under control.
