Woman beaten, attacked by pit bull

YONKERS, NY -- A Yonkers woman is recovering from an attacked she sustained during a fight with three people.

Early Friday morning, police responded to 80 Riverdale Avenue in Yonkers and found a 26-year-old Yonkers woman lying on the street with several injuries, including a severe wound on her ankle, sustained from a dog bite.

She had been involved in a dispute with two other women.   Both suspects assaulted the victim by punching her on her upper body and face. She was then held to the ground and a man, about 30-years-old, was called over and told to let his pit bull bite the victim. The animal bit her repeatedly until a group of bystanders intervened and dragged her away.

The man and one of the women fled the scene.  The other woman, Ami Whittle, 26, of Yonkers, was arrested and charged with gang assault in the second degree.

The victim was treated and released at a local hospital.
