Bull Terrier kills pup and injures woman

ALBUQUERQUE, NM -- What started out as a morning walk in a northwest Albuquerque neighborhood, ended with a woman being attacked by a bull terrier and her dog killed.

Marsha Ewanits says she was out with her dogs near Unser and McMahon when the terrier charged them, then grabbed her dog Jullius and wouldn't let go. When Marsha tried to pull the dogs apart, the terrier bit her too.

Two men helped break up the fight. Marsha and her pups made it home. The owner of the terrier came to her house, took Marsha to the hospital and took Jullius to the vet. Jullius did not survive the attack.

A spokeswoman for Animal Control says the terrier has been classified as a dangerous dog. The owner has 10 days to appeal that or put the dog down.
