To the editor:
We just moved to the area not too long ago and we are overjoyed by the Preston City Council's decision to keep the pit bull ban intact.
We had a family member who had a pit bull as the family house dog and the dog was loved, trained and well cared for. Without warning, this dog that had no history of ever being aggressive, mauled its owner's hand.
His injuries were extensive but I thank God that he is all right as it could of been much, much worse.
These dogs turn on a dime. It is imperative that we keep the ban. Kudos to the City Council. The safety of residents is the most important goal and this ban accomplishes this.
