Pit bull mauls Bay City girl, 7

BAY CITY, MI — A 7-year-old Bay City girl was to undergo re-constructive surgery after a dog mauled her tonight at a home in Bay City.

The girl, the granddaughter of the home’s resident, was feeding the male pit bull about 9:30 p.m. when the dog latched onto her head and dragged her, said Bay City police.

The pit bull that attacked a 7-year-old Bay City girl Tuesday.

The youngster suffered wounds to her head and face, said police.

Animal Control has seized the animal.

Investigators did not know whether it had been properly vaccinated and the occupants of the home gave unclear information about who owns the dog, said police.

A report will be forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review.
