UNITED KINGDOM -- A TEENAGER was last night recovering from 28 bite wounds after being savaged by a dog he had been thinking of buying.
Anthony Armstrong, 16, was walking Rock - a bull mastiff / pit bull cross - and had put down some food in a park.
He had gone to stroke it when it went berserk, locking its jaws on him, tossing him around and ripping open his flesh.
Pal Scott Singleton, 18, and his mum Eileen, 47, were hurt as they stabbed it 30 times with a knife and bludgeoned it to death with a brush for ten minutes to stop it ripping Anthony to pieces.
Scott said: "It was like a lion. It jumped on him, trying to bite his face, got him to the floor and dragged him in its jaws.
"He was screaming for his life but it had hold of his neck. I ran home to get two knives. It sat on him, as if to say, 'This is my meat'. Mum hit it but it dragged her to the floor. We got Anthony away and he collapsed.
"The dog savaged every part of him. You could see through his leg."
Scott's dad Mark said: "If it wasn't for my son and my wife, the lad would have been dead."
Anthony, of Widnes, Cheshire, was treated in hospital. His family refused to comment.
[NOTE: I'm glad the kids OK, but seriously the entire family must have had a lobotomy. "Sure little Johnny. A Mastiff Pit mix sounds awesome! You'll be sure to get all the girls with a tough looking dog like that! Let's go check him out!"]
