Man Attempting To Break Up Dog Fight Injured

PITTSBURGH, PA -- A 22-year-old man was bit in the hand when neighbors said he tried breaking up a fight between his dogs and a pit bull.

The incident happened on Zoeller Street in Pittsburgh's Spring Hill neighborhood on Monday. Police said the victim's German shepperds were in the backyard when the attack happened.

"It was crazy. They were barking pretty loud and like real vicious, but I didn't know it was like that bad," said the victim's friend Dominic Massimiani.

"The pit bull got in the yard and was fighting the German shepherds and I guess he tried to stop it."

Family members said the victim was taken to Allegheny General Hospital to be treated for his injuries. There is no word on his condition.

Police have not said if charges will be filed against the pit bull's owner.
