Officer Shot During Pit Bull Attack

OHIO -- A Union Township police officer shot a pit bull that was attacking another officer.

Two officers went to the 1000 block of Old State Route 74 on Monday evening to serve a warrant.

When they approached the home, police said a pit bull or similar type of dog attacked one of the officers.
Police said the officer being attacked was unable to free himself. The other officer fired a round, hitting the dog. The bullet appears to have traveled through the dog and struck the officer being attacked in the leg.

The injured officer was transported to University Hospital. Police are continuing the investigation.
