EARLIER...

A 14 month old girl is recovering after she was attacked by three pit bulls at her grandparents' home in Portsmouth, Ohio.

14 month old Kahtauna Cook was playing in a room at her grandparent's home when three pit bulls owned by her step-grandfather jumped a barricade and attacked her. Kahtauna was bitten several times.

Kahtauna's mother, Janet Jones, was sleeping on the couch in the room where the baby was playing; and woke up during the attack. She managed to grab her daughter, which basically saved the child's life. Jones was also bitten in the face.

The three dogs; "Hitler", "Moo Moo" and "Tater" are now in the custody of Scioto County Animal Control officers. They will be put to sleep.
