MISSOURI -- A 4-year-old girl and a woman putting away her groceries were attacked by a lab mix Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.
The woman needed stitches for her bite while the girl was not taken to the hospital. Kansas City Animal Control took the female chocolate lab mix away.
The owner wasn't at home at the time of the attacks but said she would do her best to get her dog back. Police have not said whether or not any tickets will be issued to the dog's owner.
The attacks occurred just after noon in the 3700 block of Northeast Antioch Road. This is near Parvin Road.

The dog attacked the preschooler who was playing in her front yard, police said. The girl's father said the dog bit his daughter on her arm near her elbow but let go quickly.
The dog then raced to the woman's truck and jumped in. The woman was unloading groceries and had gone into the house, police said. She didn't realize that the dog was inside her truck and reached inside to get more groceries.
The dog then bit the woman, authorities said.
