Police said the woman, 73, was knocked to the ground and bitten on her legs by the cattle dog as she walked along Third Avenue shortly after 2pm.

Officers were told the dog was chained to a [pickup truck] parked on the street and attacked the woman as she walked past.
She was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to Campbelltown Hospital where scans revealed she had fractured her wrist.
Police have spoken to the owner of the dog and charges are expected to be laid.
Investigators have also been told the dog was euthanized following the incident.
