At large pit bull attacks woman and kills her leashed Yorkie

MONTANA -- A Pit bull kills a Yorkshire Terrier out for a walk with its owner Wednesday night on the Billings South Side. It happened at about 7:30 p.m. on the 200 block of South 31st Street.

Police say [the owners says that] a child let the Pit bull out of the house, and it ran into the street and attacked and killed the Yorkie. They say the Pit bull attacked the Yorkie's owner, biting her on the hand and head as she tried [in vain] to save her pet. She was taken to the hospital.

Officers with Billings Animal Control took the Pit bull. They are investigating the case and will determine what, if any, charges its owners may face.

[I can tell you "what, if any, charges" the pit owner is facing. NOTHING! They're already saying their kid is at fault for letting their monster dog outside so as long as they insist it was an 'accident', the law will do NOTHING to them. They'll insist they "didn't know" it was dangerous/aggressive, they had never had a problem with it before, blah, blah, blah. If anything, they'll get a simple running at large ticket for about fifty bucks.]
