Pit bull attacks woman waiting for bus

NORTH CAROLINA -- A pit bull attacked a woman while she was waiting for a bus on Friday morning, police said.

The incident happened around 7 am on Ashley Circle when the pitbull attacked a woman, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said.

The woman was able to shield herself form the attack but the dog latched its teeth into her forearm, police said. She was taken to the hospital.

Animal Control took the dog into custody, police said.

Police and neighbors said that they have been terrorized by the dog in the past and seemed relieved it is gone.

Several neighbors told WBTV various stories about how the dog had attacked them in the past.

One story included a mother and her 5-year-old daughter, who was attacked on the way to her school bus stop. The dog finally let go from the girl's book bag after the mother hit the dog several times.

The scene became chaotic as the two owners of the dog because argumentative with the crowd.

[Yes, first the neighbors are terrorized by the dog and now they're terrorized by the idiotic owners. Nice!]
