ARIZONA -- Tucson police killed two pit bull dogs that were attacking an 86-year-old man on the city's east side this morning.
The man was walking a dog when the two pit bulls attacked the dog and the man intervened to save it, Tucson police said.
Officers shot and killed both dogs when they turned on officers who responded to the dog attack about 6:30 a.m. in the 6600 Block of East Calle Betelgeux, near East 22nd Street and South Wilmot Road, police said.
The man's injuries were not considered serious. He left the scene to take his dog to the veterinarian, police said.
