Teen Suffering Seizure Attacked By Family Pit Bull

PENNSYLVANIA -- A Philadelphia teen was attacked by a pit bull while having a seizure in her home Wednesday.

The incident happened at about 11 a.m. in the 5200 block of Arlington Street in the city’s Wynnefield section.

Authorities say the 19-year-old, who has a history of seizures, was seizing on the floor when the family dog attacked her. The dog ripped off the teen’s ear.

The victim’s mother’s fiancĂ©e found her on the floor and called for help. She was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania for treatment.

Police recovered the girl’s ear and brought it to the hospital on ice.

The dog has been removed from the home by the SPCA.
