LOUISIANA -- After deputies received a call about a dead dog and several malnourished dogs at a Chauvin house, they arrested the animal owners, according to the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office.
On Wednesday morning, deputies arrived at the location to discover one dead pit bull lying on the ground halfway out of a dog house and four other malnourished pit bulls that were very skinny and had been neglected.

The dog houses were covered in feces, according to deputies.
The dogs were owned by brother and sister, Monique White and Brandon White, who could provide no explanation as to why the dogs were in poor health.
Brandon White claimed the dead animal as his own, according to police.

Monique Marie White, 24, was arrested on four counts of cruelty to animals and is in jail on a $100,000 bond. Brandon Joseph White, 17, was arrested on one count of cruelty to animals and is in jail on a $100,000 bond.
Terrebonne Parish animal control recovered the dead dog, along with the four neglected animals.
