Jackie Cloe, 52, of the 1000 block of Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Pierce, was arrested at 11:42 a.m. Wednesday by police who responded to the scene after hearing an animal control officer screaming for help on a radio.
According to an arrest affidavit, Cloe deliberately released the dog after city Animal Control Officer Barbara Gaspar told Cloe that the dog should be taken to the back of the residence and quarantined for observation.
Cloe untied the dog and it charged a second Animal Control Officer, William Blue, and bit him in the arm as he tried to stop the dog.
Officer Blue used a Taser to subdue the dog and it was confined at the Humane Society of St. Lucie County, police said.
Officer Blue's bite wounds were treated at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute.
The type of dog was not identified in the police report.

Interesting info on this guy, Jackie A. Cloe, DOB 3-12-1959.
Curiously, the article says he was arrested for "resisting an officer with violence". However, this website says he was arrested for RESIST OFFICER OBSTRUCT WITHOUT VIOLENCE. I hope this is a misprint b/c the animal control officer was attacked due to this man's actions.
Convicted of DUI, MANSLAUGHTER 10-30-1990. Given a 14 year prison sentence - despite the article below saying he was sentenced to twenty years for killing a 17 year-old kid. Appears he was released after only about 7 years(!).
Previously, he was convicted 2-2-1984 of GRAND THEFT, ATTEMPTED BURLGARY, RESISTING AN OFFICER and given a 3 year sentences for each. However, they must have been concurrent b/c he was released after less than a year (2-5-1985).
I don't know what is up with Florida's judicial system. This article "Man Receives 20 Years For Dui Manslaughter" says Jackie Cloe received TWENTY YEARS for "running over [Kevin] McGehe, 17, with a dump truck and killing the teen-ager". Prosecutor Mary Ann Duggan proved that Cloe was HIGH ON COCAINE while driving. Cloe had also been drinking...
It was Cloe's THIRD DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE conviction since 1985.
After being convicted of DUI in 1985, Cloe went to substance-abuse and DUI school, which he completed. One week later, Cloe was arrested again on DUI charges.
His license was suspended on the second conviction when he killed McGehe.
