Women fend off dog attack in NW Houston

TEXAS -- Two women were injured when a dog tried to attack one of them Thursday morning in Northwest Houston.

Authorities responded Thursday just before noon to a call in the 6600 block of Thornwall, where a boxer / bull terrier mix had bitten one woman in the ankle.

The dog bit the other woman in the wrist when she came into the kitchen and tried to pull it away from the first woman, an investigator said. Authorities did not release the names of the victims.

Two men who live nearby took control of the dog after they heard the women yelling. Animal Control then arrived and took the animal into custody.
