Local woman, Sherry Ford, accused of animal cruelty again

TENNESSEE -- A local woman is once again facing allegations of animal neglect. Rutherford County animal control officers are looking into whether or not Sherry Ford is neglecting rescue horses.

You may remember back in 2006, Sherry Ford and the Rock N Acres Animal Rescue in Rutherford County were investigated for animal cruelty.

Those charges were supposed to be dropped, but we now have learned officers with the Rutherford County Pet Adoption and Welfare Services are investigating another complaint regarding Ford and her horses.

Jeff Mosher, of Glasgow, KY, is the one who made that complaint. He says was trying to buy the horse from Ford after responding to her ad on Craigslist. Mosher says he then learned she has a non-profit rescue called Peace of Mind Equine Rescue.

The Rutherford County Pet Adoption and Welfare Service director would only say they are investigating that complaint.

But this isn't the first time Ford has been accused of something like this, back in 2006, court records revealed she was ordered to close down the Rock N Acres Animal Shelter, but the case was supposed to be dismissed and that order was not supposed to be permanent.

We have made every effort to get in touch with Sherry Ford about this complaint, including calling numerous numbers for her, going to her last known address and emailing her, but we have yet to hear back from Ford. We will let you know the outcome of this latest investigation.

We also spoke with the Director of Rock N Acres, who tells us Ford does still work with them.
