ILLINOIS -- An Illinois man will appear in court after his dog attacked an 8-year-old girl.
Crawford County police authorities say the pitbull-rottweiler mix belonging to Clinton Woosley, 36, Hutsonville, Ill., attacked Kelcee Lowrance, 8, Hutsonville, Ill Tuesday.
Police say Lowrance was severely injured and was taken to the hospital.
As of Thursday afternoon, Lowrance was recovering from surgery to reattach her right ear and also from work on her right arm.
Police say Woosley was arrested and charged with reckless conduct for endangering bodily safety of an individual and also for failing to restrain his dog.
The dog was put down.
A family friend said there will be a soup supper benefit for Kelcee Lowrance Jan. 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hutsonville Grade School cafeteria.
